@14:35 Snowboarding or skiing, the #1 thing is to get your eyes looking ACROSS the hill, not straight down.

They’ve had awesome people on this series but so far he’s got to be the coolest one I’ve seen.

So laid back yet able to engineer a versatile prosthetic that benefits a wide variety of activities with such meticulous thought and intricate sturdy design and looks pretty cool too.

  27. @AS-kq7hw

  35. @CedroCron

    February 3, 2026 at 11:52 pm

As a Paraplegic I appreciate the Paralympians because they show the world that just because a person has a disability doesn’t mean they are invalids and for that I’m so thankful because the world looks at me like I’m damaged goods. I used to be able bodied and I had an unfortunate accident through no fault of my own (slipped and fell on some ice and injured my spinal cord). One thing the world needs is an easier world for wheelchair users. There is so many broken automatic door openers, ramps not to code or missing, not enough elevators and the list goes on and on. It’s so hard to function in an able bodied world when you depend on a wheelchair. Companies think that saying they are “equal opportunity” is enough rather than putting words into actions and actually being “equal opportunity” try finding a job when you are in a wheelchair. It’s BRUTAL!

  39. @usmc1379

    February 4, 2026 at 3:05 am

Grew up in Massachusetts snowboarding all winter, skateboarding all summer. Unfortunately I live in Florida now and I haven’t skated in decades 😂

  40. @TheArborphiliac

    February 4, 2026 at 5:02 am

Does having a background skateboarding and longboarding set me up to snowboard? I feel very natural going fast downhill sideways, but, I can jump off and bail with a skateboard, can’t exactly do that with your feet buckled in. I FEEL like id be good at snowboarding but I’ve never tried it.

  50. @RadMad789

    February 4, 2026 at 9:13 pm

I’m glad everybody is talking about how impressive this guy is, but I’m also kind of surprised the comments don’t seem to be talking about how attractive he is. 😍

    • @sharondesfor5151

  55. @Bulldogg6404

    February 5, 2026 at 2:14 am

    Here are my two questions
    1) When a prosthetic is outgrown or when the owner otherwise doesn’t need it anymore (ie. passes away of age), do their prosthetics often get donated and/or sold to new owners? Assuming they are still functional, a proper fit, and not obsolete by that point?
    2) If an amputee needs prosthesis, why not take the opportunity to branch out into a non-humanoid shape? Social stigma aside, and not necessarily going full Inspector Gadget, I would imagine a moderate and useful middle ground could exist that goes beyond what a standard human structure can provide for mobility and versatility.

    • @unknownentity7964

      February 6, 2026 at 3:44 am

The simple answer for that, is that for humans, generally the best shape for a leg prosthesis is a leg shape. It’s how the body grew to match, it’s just what makes sense and works best mechanically. Some do look less ‘humanoid’ such as blade legs for running, but generally having the same vague ‘leg shape’ is needed for replicating comfortable walking patterns! Plenty of legs are full inspector gadget inside though. Tons of fancy motors and features! Ones that detect if you’re walking uphill, downhill etc and changes how the motors move to help and so onc

  57. @tatiscolombia

    February 5, 2026 at 5:02 am

This is such a good video, but is not ‘Paralympic support’, more like Winter Paralympic Or just Skiing and snowboarding support.

  58. @SarahElisabethJoyal

    February 5, 2026 at 10:38 am

Honest question though, why not just keep the snowboard boot on that leg if you’re only ever gonna use it for snowboarding anyway

  59. @dustinpadgett946

    February 5, 2026 at 11:19 am

As an Above the Knee amputee on my right side. This dude just explained using an AK leg in a way that’s NEVER clicked before… BUT I’ve used my crutches for 10+ years. I think he MAY have just solved my hatred of my prosthetic… 😁

  60. @T3hXinro

    February 5, 2026 at 12:17 pm

I’m sad he didn’t mention goalball as a unique sport! It’s exclusively for blind participants, played with a large net and a beeping ball. There’s no Olympic counterpart. Boccia is also totally unique. It’s bocce played by participants with motor function disabilities, often using ramps to ‘toss’ the balls.

  61. @ILikeBirds80

    His eyes got everyone pregnant.

I’m a straight dude and *I* got pregnant.

But he reminded me – I used to watch the Para games as much as I followed the Olympic Games (which is pretty closely). I’m glad they’ll be almost as televised this year.

  66. @fatimahanwaar306

    February 5, 2026 at 11:13 pm

I checked that Mike Schultz is 44 years old today! he’s too old to do snowboarding now!

  75. @treysmith9925

    February 8, 2026 at 3:50 am

snowboarding as an amputee is crazy impressive. I couldnt steer when I tied my boot to tight and my foot fell asleep, I can’t imagine pulling it off without any feeling below the thigh

  76. @fayetan296

    February 8, 2026 at 2:21 pm

Amazing to see that he uses his skill to not just help himself but also his competitors. I wonder how Conflict of interests are handled?

  77. @irisgallati

    February 8, 2026 at 6:27 pm

Most difficult sport I could imagine for a prosthesis would be slacklining. Or voltige, because you need a lot of balance for these.

    • @astralb.2647

      February 9, 2026 at 7:07 pm

I imagine figure skating or ballet would be very hard too

  78. @wagashi

I’m not a sports person at all whether olympics or paralympics, but this was actually really fascinating! This guy is a total badass

  79. @aristomatcha

    February 9, 2026 at 8:25 am

I enjoyed this video a lot.. He explains it thoroughly, and it was both knowledgeable and interesting. Huge respect 🏆🥇

  80. @astralb.2647

    February 9, 2026 at 6:55 pm

The first double amputee to partake in the regular Olympics murdered his girlfriend iirc… we disabled folks need better representation at the Olympics 😂

  81. @astralb.2647

    February 9, 2026 at 7:08 pm

I’d love to try sit-skiing at some point, but I’m quite certain I’d just flop over every 3 seconds

  82. @lizard1325

    February 10, 2026 at 3:04 pm

this is awesome and i also would love to see maybe another Paralympian featured maybe with a different type of disability like blindness or visually impaired? but i do like how he talked about other types of disabled athletes a little bit. the Paralympics and para sports in general are just so diverse <3

  83. @JenniferSmith-o9b

    February 10, 2026 at 9:18 pm

Olympics = playing Dark Souls with a 🎮.

Paralympics = playing Dark Souls with ⌨️ and 🖱️.

  84. @KappaBarra

The fact that he learned perfessional snowboarding ATER being amputated, and I don’t know snowboarding with two gets, period, he deserves an applause
