Hardware like this needs to be designed to be replaced. It’s crazy that you buy a new tablet and a new computer every few years but there are cars with 10 and 20 year old infotainment rolling around.
You shouldn’t need to buy a new 70k-150k car because the infotainment tech is a little dated.
The screens might as well effectively be tablets (without batteries) that dock with the car.
And as screen tech or touch sensitivity tech or processing power gets better every few years … this becomes away to spend a few hundred or a couple thousand to replace one or more screens for a completely updated system.

This just escalates the costs of vehicles without actually adding value. Most people do not want this and what they DO want (lower cost of maintenance for example) is at odds with this design. It’s just another example of how out of touch tech bros are becoming.
