No one wants a Windows computer unless you are a gamer. No one uses co-pilot. ChatGPT is very helpful and Gemini is pretty good.

In general Microsoft is not to be trusted , I agree, how proprietary data is more secure with the AI on a chip is not fully explained but I will endeavor to respond to you! Great question though !

They try to push AI so hard, it gets annoying and too much in your face. Just integrate it more subtle in Office for real assistance tasks.

  33. @dbreardon

    October 24, 2024 at 1:15 am

what good is it if you can’t even upload a txt document or a pdf. Doesn’t seem to be a way to save your own AI prompts or a prompt library or all the other stuff that ChatGPT can do. Now I suppose you do get Ai for your 365 apps if you pay the $20/month. But as a stand alone app, $20 or $240/years is a lot of money. And unfortunately it is MS app restricted as far as the apps it can control.
If you don’t pay for a Office 365 subscription, the $20/month for a chatbot is way overpriced considering other LLMs, including ChatGPT, seem to allow for more functionality than copilot.
