As someone that takes photos of the Nutrition Facts & Preparation Instructions on Whole Foods Bulk Bin & Wholesale Club Prepared meals, I am looking forward to the Autumn releases. No hurry.

As a photographer who needs quick access to albums.… this new photo app SUCKS!

People complain about Apple not letting users customize their phones and when they do, they still complain.

    July 19, 2024 at 2:44 pm

That Bluetooth situation is annoying. I don’t have dedicated airpods for my phone so if I switch devices I have to reconnect them. I almost need a Bluetooth widget on home screen to connect to different devices

I can’t wait for the android ios 18

Psst, the other pages on control center are customizable, so you can change the order of them appearing

Bridget C. has been A+ for years (been a CNET subscriber since the days of Holly Wood, Brian Tong & co)!

I wonder if someone pitched the title of the show as “Carey On”

(eg: This is CNET, I’m Bridget, and let’s … Invincible-style cut to the show title)

  11. @Sheikh801-h5z

    July 19, 2024 at 3:32 pm

Someone watching this from the 22nd century and they would think about this that you guys had to move app icons

  12. @samkiiit

    July 19, 2024 at 4:12 pm

You can create a Bluetooth toggle shortcut in the Shortcuts app and add that shortcut to the control center. And almost everything in there is customizable. The last page can be moved to the first, a whole useless page can be removed, and more can be added.

Photos app – is the option to create folders gone?!

  14. @nuyou21

    July 19, 2024 at 4:27 pm

I absolutely love that you can now lock individual apps like Mail, Message and phone so they can only be accessed with Face ID in iOS 18 ????

  21. @Mohamedahmed-jz7xd

    July 19, 2024 at 5:48 pm

I don’t like the photos app. Looks crappy and bad ux/ui design that doesn’t deserve to be Apple 1st party photos app at all. Bring back ios 17 version, Apple.

  22. @AirAaron88

    July 19, 2024 at 6:30 pm

The photos app is so awful, not seeing your albums clearly and easily has been so annoying. Hopefully they make some tweaks to some of these annoying things in beta

  23. @CarlosRuiz17

    July 19, 2024 at 8:31 pm

There’s no way to justify all these changes as ‘upgrades’ at this point. Using iOS and Android for several years, yes Android is much more cohesive and better at this point.

Iphone needs to introduce split screen and T9 dialer. Or may be these basic features will come after 10 years with a lot of fanfare

  29. @jackeroo08

The circles in control centre are .. offensive

  30. @hakmyrathakmyrat682

  33. @mogumogu000

    July 20, 2024 at 5:11 am

I think they are deliberately making it difficult to access Bluetooth ????

  34. @topotree

    July 20, 2024 at 6:08 am

They(apple) say that they won’t release anything untill it’s finished then why they have beta!

  35. @topotree

    July 20, 2024 at 6:11 am

All these apps resizing things and and moving them is so so old, when I first got my official Android in 2019 I have been doing these things since then.

  36. @topotree

    July 20, 2024 at 6:17 am

It’s funny that apple introduces new things each year but one guy in particular don’t change his outfit and his name is Craig Federighi ????.

  37. @lachlanbrown8110

    July 20, 2024 at 6:33 am

That new photos app looks absolutely terrible. What are they thinking?

I switced to one IU a few years ago. Ios feels like mario bros in call of duty era.

  42. @WarrenTolley

    July 20, 2024 at 10:17 am

iPhone user here, pretty shameful from Apple to call this a “big update”! I get caution with complex apps & I like them for their patient long term approach and most users feel the same ! Ai is a perfect example brilliantly, executed, and worth waiting for, but having a huge segment on moving icons & colours is patronizingly embarrassing! It’s just making itself look obsolete to every android user.

  43. @ibn0721

    July 20, 2024 at 10:49 am

IOS 18 looks like a bad android theme.

  44. @AndresAndrade.

Android… I mean apple, is doing cool things

  45. @kflashner
