I mean I get what’s being said but it sounds more like a sales pitch at the end of the day.

The flaw in our education system is there’s no room to personalize your education. There’s only so much time in the world to get good at one thing. But forcing us to simply memorize and comply doesn’t teach us anywhere near as much.

Have you heard of Peter Gray? He has some material you may enjoy. TED talks and books that is.

Something that we need to learn is that quick access to information is required in various areas. I also used to believe that memorising is not fun… but having a person who can make connections and has all the information it needs prepared in the brain is more productive that someone who just needs to look up information all the time

    What happened to TED?

Oh yes. Woke leftist nonsense from people with no children trying to teach parents and children how to live a moral life. Whilst all the do is fuel their hedonic pleasures in a selfish, lazy fashion.

Nice sales pitch this time though TED.

Kids are curious on their own. This idea that kids need to be enticed to be curious about things that are important is ridiculous. It’s just about humans trying to interfere and then take credit for what God set up all along. If there wasn’t a school system, then kids would be interested in whatever the father does to make money, and what the mother does to keep house, and they would have way more quality time with their parents, and learn most of the facts of life from them, and love them because of it. Kids are naturally curious about what’s important. But instead, we have a school system where state employed teachers spend more time with your kids than you do, and now teach them perverse things like transgender ideology, which is not based in biology or research.

He was talking about the average adult , I believe, from 35- 90 yr. old. What led you to think “ people “ meant school age people?

At one point I felt like Duo’s gonna say: “If you don’t learn today, a baby owl will die!” 😉

I experience the Duo Lingo reminders as nagging; And they make me want to not practice anymore, just to spite whoever is sending the reminder.

To add to this, I’m learning Spanish and I’m not fluent by any means, but I go to Spain on holiday pretty regularly and it’s great to actually be able to interact with Spanish people in their own language now, albeit in a pretty basic way, instead of hoping they speak English or pointing at stuff.

Mindfulness helps with concentration I noticed. The workbook called 30 Days Without Social Media by Harper Daniels was a good start.
