Will the ‘ban’ really make a difference? You’ll still be able to download the app from the App Store registered elsewhere and a VPN can get around blocking.

      January 10, 2025 at 11:52 pm

if you download an unlawful app that would be considered a criminal act

    • @BombshElle_7

      January 11, 2025 at 2:05 am

It won’t get updates if blocked. Moreover, when a newer operating system is uploaded on your phone, the app won’t meet its standard and will become obsolete (slowly)

    • @WillNewcomb

      January 11, 2025 at 2:19 am

@ If you switch to your non USA a/c you WILL get updates

@WillNewcomb  U.S. account or not, if an app is no longer supported by iOs or UI, can it still function? Now, if you have an old phone and you never install system updates, then I can see a VPN working.

TikTok is NOT free speech, it prevents many from having accounts. So that argument doesn’t hold

    January 11, 2025 at 11:13 am

All they have to do is sell to onshore investors and there are some. So it’s not necessary

Don’t ban the app. Just force them to follow strict data protection laws like Europe does.

Bs. TikTok pays people more than other social networks. Zuckerberg admitted to sharing people’s data and they are still around. This smells fishy
