The Gemini app sucked for a long time: slow, laggy, etc compared to a browser chat. Something happened though in the last version or so. It’s much, much better now and works as quickly as the browser and iOS version for the first time.

Google kept updating it during the production of this video so hopefully it still has a similar functionality 😅

I’m making perwonal apps for Mac with chatgpt and i think ios will die soon. Plus plan feels subsidized in that sense. Closed OS/platforms reprecent everything wrong with the world since 2006. Think Linux would be even better but Mac Mini used to be affordable

The macOS app is the part I am most curious about, since a native shortcut to Gemini could change how often people reach for it over a browser tab.

Gemini basically replaced the web browser. I rarely use Safari any more. Gemini can create an image 10 times faster than Playground. My iPad doesn’t need an AI chip to use AI.

I dont see Shared Windows as an option

Sharing the Premiere Pro window and having it read the playhead timecode was the most useful demo here. Curious though: the model picker only showed 3.5 Flash Lite, 3.6 Flash and 3.1 Pro. Does Argon show up in the Mac app for Pro/Ultra accounts? From what I read it started rolling out to subscribers mid-October.

Yes. That’s the new model that is available in the app now.
