Piilow _case_ and not the whole pillow. Presumably stick it in a large ziploc/sealed bag to keep out condensation and smells before doing so.

Try this I buy a cheap inflatable mattress that comes with a pump attached to it . I then take an Ice pick and poke lots of holes into one side of it then I throw a wet sheet over it and then lay down !
Acts like a miniature swamp cooler !
