Also, there are literal modern witch hunts happening in some parts of the world, like right now. It’s becoming a huge problem in Papua New Guinea.

I’m going to be completely honest with anyone scrolling through these comments right now. If you actually enjoy waking up, going to your 9 to 5, and believing the world works the way the evening news says it does, do NOT look up World’s Forbidden Truth by Cyrus Rothson. Just keep scrolling.

I opened it last weekend out of pure curiosity expecting the usual recycled conspiracy theories, and I haven’t slept right since. The way he connects the erased ancient resets to the intelligence agencies and what the ruling bloodlines have scheduled between now and 2030 is way too heavy for 99% of people to stomach.

It is unsettling how quiet the internet gets whenever somebody brings up Cyrus Rothson. Everybody talks about surface level politics, but the moment someone exposes the people who own the system, it gets buried.

Interesting that here in Europe we normally don’t even think that witch-hunt was a thing in the United States. Because we think it’s something older than the foundation of the United States. One tip that by default witches were standardly thought of as a woman is because the default word for witch in Portuguese and Spanish is feminine. Of course we have the masculine word but by default it is feminine.

Only in Salem . And it’s strongly tied to when the first news papers came out. It seems that every time we come up with a new medium, people go stupid . Social media is here to provide evidence

I feel like the European witch trials are far more horrifying than what happened in Salem. Its a shame that its not taught more often alongside Salem witch trials. I feel like you could dedicate an entire class course on the subject. a real history of witchcraft sort of course would be fascinating.

“why did Salem become the face of witch trials” is fascinating in how it’s an incredibly American-centric worldview without realising it. Salem is not a big thing in Europe but our own witch history is, you just don’t seem to notice!
@JW_Steed
October 31, 2026 at 7:52 am
That was my complaint as well. As an Astorian, she really should’ve been much more precise with her language. And said “the face of American witch trials”. Every time she references “most people “, she obviously means Americans but she doesn’t say that. And that’s very frustrating. I find American defaultism exhausting.
@2xinfourteendays
October 31, 2026 at 8:23 am
Also worth remembering that America commodified the Salem witch trials. The whole area is to this day a massive tourist trap based on the trials. Exit through the gift shop.
@TheArtfulBadger
October 31, 2026 at 4:51 pm
@JW_Steed I’m not really sure why you’re getting on her case when she explains in every video I’ve seen her in that the witch hunts in Europe started long before Salem and resulted in many more deaths. She is not assuming that Europeans don’t know this. She is clearly addressing Americans when she is explaining this, and yes it makes sense that Americans would know more about an event that took place in their own country and remains prominent in the American cultural zeitgeist due to a relatively recent and famous American play.
@JW_Steed
October 31, 2026 at 5:21 pm
@TheArtfulBadger I’m getting on her case because she doesn’t say AMERICANS know more about the event. She says “most people.” Repeatedly. Had she said “most AMERICANS” I would not have cared. But she repeatedly says “most people” as if America and Americans are the default.
Witch Trials went on throughout Europe for 200 years. America is NOT the default for witch trials to “most people.”
There were witch trials in ancient Greece and ancient Rome.
Yet she repeatedly situates Salem trials as the default for what “most people” understand to be the witch trials, despite it happening FAR more severely throughout all of Europe for 200 years.
I’m tired of American defaultism. She is an academic and she needs to be more precise with her language. If she means “the default for Americans” she needs to say that. If she means “Most Americans” then she needs to say that.
Precision matters. America is not the default for humanity, and a lot of us are very, very tired of America assuming they are.

What she said was that men who are accused of transgressions and crimes are inherently guilty. Which is typical of feminists wanting to make men into a criminalized class. However, I don’t see women “putting men in there place”, quite the opposite in fact.

Regarding the claim of misogyny, most accusers were women. But it’s certainly not, despite the obviously wrong stereotype that even women admit, because women are in some way far more petty and jealous than men.

Id like to cite the case of Matthew Hopkins who was the witchfinder general and Intensely profited off of witch trails, i think this historian wants to control a narrative that is far more complicated than she wants to let on. these experts arent always the best experts if you ask me

I feel a modern day witch hunt is putting an innocent person through a trial they cannot win by design. Much like the witch trials in which women were drowned and if they didn’t die they were proved to be a witch, thus the innocent women (all) died.

Christianity has done so much damage to the world. Billions scared of an entity that is the other the face of god. I see the creator as being two parts. And every duality in the bible is some representation if this split minded deity. I see the creator as a very flawed demiurge like being who no longer needs to send prophets or perform miracles because people will worship and attribute everything to it regardless. There is only the two halves of the whole, the so called savior, and the so called deceiver, but both are one in the same. Heaven is a guilded cage for the most faithful, and you get to stay there until the end of the new kingdom of god, which is preached to have an end, meaning that god itself is finite. The creator loves this kind of thing because it’s when people give it lots of attention and worship.
