I just don’t get the purpose. At home you can just pick up an iPad or laptop if you need a bigger screen. If you on the go why do you need a big screen. I highly doubt anyone would be any more productive than on normal sized smartphones. It makes me think of when I got an iPad mini and thought I was going to get more done but I got the same amount of work done.

Hi,
I am 81 years old and interested in this phone…maybe. I don’t type with my thumbs. I’ve seen one photo where the phone is open like a notebook computer, where 1/2 is screen and the other half is keyboard. The keyboard is split apart making it easier for those who type with their thumbs, which I am unable to do.
Is there a way to make the keyboard one unit? I have trouble texting on my Galaxy note 10+ and would love for bigger keys to make it easier to type. I’d probably text more if I could do that. I’ve gone on line and tried to chat with experts but they never give me the answer.

Blame it on apple that you don’t getuch in the box!! When they introduced it CNet were very quick to support apple and their reasoning to so. Despite the fact it was a blantant lie from apple and indeed just a money making exercise rather than any specific care for the environment! I wanted bigger but they made it smaller. And 512 gb Is only in Black. I will get the Silver one. I like the lighter colors the most. Will hate trading in the Bronze Z Fold 2. But it has a great trade in Value.

Was holding out for this but then saw that the surface duo was going for $400 and less so I took the plunge. I love this device. Maybe I’ll buy a fold when I drop my duo and it shatters since the whole thing is made of glass.

i have a mini heart attack whenever i take my $800 note 10 plus out of its case for five seconds. think ill pass on the phone that costs as much as a decent used car and is as fragile as a stick of 0.3mm mechanical pencil lead

the fact that it can survive rain is the game changer for me for sure, I work outdoor in all kinds of weather so having it not break from some heavy rain is crucial, but I’m not sure if I’d get one anytime soon, can’t really justify it just yet xD

Just Ordered…. Looking forward to seeing it – I’m trading a Note 20Ultra 5G in for a 512 Black ZFold3 so this should be a good upgrade. Was waiting on the S Pen to come as an option before I was sold on it.

what nobody is talking about is how heavy and bulky it is when folded. They arent there yet with this phone. It needs to get much thinner and lighter. I believe it will in a couple of years but not worth the money. I have spoke to many with this phone and they dont like it

I’ve had the 2 for about 4 months. I would buy it again. Pros, it’s super quick and has basically replaced my laptop. It feels small when folded. It’s amazing always having a fantastic tablet in my pocket. Cons, an awkward talking position. I tend to angle the top speaker into my ear. The 1 handed use is pretty bad. I only use the front screen for uber. The keyboard is just too tiny for my hands. I would basically say there is no one handed use.

It looks stunning. I can’t wait to get it. Pre-ordered it in phantom silver yesterday. The 256gb version. Enough for me. For such a pricey phone, nothing special inside the box. That sucks….. Samsung should put the new Galaxy Buds 2 inside.

The box thinness and grams of weight difference and camera bump size and so forth are the absolute least interesting aspects of this phone. I don’t understand the value of these first impressions.

This is dope. Im thinking of getting a Pixel Fold when that comes out, but if it’s missing the telephoto lens, i might just get a Pixel 6 Pro. Really depends on the quality and price of the Fold. I think it’s safe to assume the pixel fold will somewhat reflect the Galaxy Fold’s level of quality but with a hopefully more accessible price.
I’m most interested to see Google’s rolling phone and see if it will be like a Google version of that oppo sliding phone. That form factor is the future of smartphones imo and will easily outcompete folding phones barring any unsolvable reliability issues
