I mean, part of me says it’s fine that they don’t know about Spike’s eye. Not every actor knows about the stuff they’re working in. I just find it weird none of the writers told them about it. It can really help their performances if they know about what the eye implies. And if they do know, but are being coy about it, why? It’s not like it’s a spoiler! Calm down, me. Calm down.

Once I accepted the 2021 version wasn’t gonna be quite the same thing as the original, I really loved it. First reaction to Cho as Spike was like wtf, but actually I really like uis interpretation of the character. Might not be perfect, but it’s got soul, imo

Yes, in the animated show Spike has a glass eye.. before the big finale, Spike mentions it to Faye that one of his eyes is fake and that its a constant reminder of his past.

Faye uses a combination of guns, her fists, and gadgets. That being said … I’d have to rewatch a specific scene, but she MAY have used a knife in Honky Tonk Woman at the poker table when Spike leaves with the final poker chip. If she didn’t use a knife there then she hasn’t used a knife once in the entire original series. She tends to prefer small gadgets and various sized guns along with her ship. She’s excellent at dog fights, though not as good as Spike. She shows off a lot of her dogfighting skills when they are taking down the rogue satellite and when her and Spike are fighting each other when she’s trying to run off with the guy that scammed her. She has used her fists exactly once though on Jupiter =D.

7:22 yup…in the original anime Episode/ Session 6 (flashback), Spike’s right eye was replaced by cybernetic eye, Spike said he doesn’t remember the whole procedure because he said that he lost his natural eye in an “accident”

you guys did just do a comedy together. look at the icon that represents “drama”. it is called “comedy and tragedy” (or “sock and buskin”, but we speak english and those are names). dramas are both comedies and tragedies, and while happy endings might happen, they are always temporary. but even with all that, dramas are comedies, although the humor often falls on the gallows side.

I think that when they answered the question of the Spike eye, they was speaking about the Spike of the live action because in the live action they never talk about that but in the anime spike has a fake eye

the fake eye was such an important part of the original show, his eyes were THE metaphor for Spike’s entire character and they made his fighting EVEN MORE impressive because of the handicap.. my jaw dropped when he said he didnt know about it omg

I LOVE THE ADAPTATION. Yes there are things that need to be changed (Ed and Fayes writting for sure) but overall I think the acting of the other character were spot on and the story was never dull. Big bonus with the music too. Again, stuff does need to be fixed but it’s good. Have an open mind!
