Government debt is the underlying cause

    • @stevenporter863

      October 31, 2026 at 2:36 pm

      Causes of debt:
      1. Involvement in international conflicts that are not our fight, but proclaimed ourselves the world’s policeman. Other countries have to pick up some of the bill too.
      2. Too big federal government and over reaching federal powers. Too many federal workers doing things the federal branch shouldn’t be doing.
Economic, infrastructure, military and ability to introduce laws that are for public good- that is all the constitution delighted to federal.
      3. Too many people looking for welfare handouts.

When currency is not tied to gold or another commodity or another currency like the US dollar then every dollar that exists is recorded and until it is collected back as tax then the government calls it debt. But if you have it, you call it money. The American federal debt is just every US dollar that exists in the world that has not been collected in taxes. There’s no reason to be afraid of the federal debt just solely because the number is big and getting bigger.

    • @justicewalking

      November 1, 2026 at 1:41 am

@stevenporter863 #4. Because all of the us currency is called debt and if there was no debt then there would be no money.

    • @justicewalking

      November 1, 2026 at 1:47 am

If I were to start my own currency and handed out 10 of them to you, then I record it as my debt of 10. And since its not tied to anything like gold and I can hand out as many as I want why would you care what my debt is

extractive capitalism is short term gains for long term losses, constructive capitalism incentivizes long term prosperity over high risk/high reward gambles (slow and steady wins the race)

@Tiredofthistimeline huh! Reminds me of the book “Why Nations Fails”

    • @Tiredofthistimeline

      November 1, 2026 at 9:38 am

@bottomless_pit sometimes I wonder if we rebranded the “rich” as “hoarders” if they’d stop patting themselves on the back for their negative externalities….

People do not understand “democracy”. Democracy is majority rule – not necessarily a good thing. We’re a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC that was infiltrated by nefarious characters (Evil Entities).
The corrupt system is being taken down. What will unfold within the next 2 years will benefit the citizens, not the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats.

    • @stevenporter863

      October 31, 2026 at 2:21 pm

I just wrote the same thing. People don’t understand.

    No applause?!

    • @stevenporter863

      October 31, 2026 at 2:20 pm

That is because we live in a republic, not a pure democracy. There is a difference, although the US is hybrid.

Flawed argument. Shes completely out of her mind. Everything in life is a competition. To pretend it isnt is delusional.

    • @stevenporter863

      October 31, 2026 at 2:24 pm

Exactly. Maybe not to that extent but we are legally born equal but, NOT equal in the sense of physical and mental abilities. I can’t be a professional athlete or perform brain surgery.

  9. @JikanyRuachar-t5e7c

    October 31, 2026 at 3:04 pm

There is no genuine democracy and that’s why it is leading to authoritarianism

  10. @ChloéMonèt-f1w

    October 31, 2026 at 4:04 pm

You get what you work for. The 1%—yes, they are smarter, and they work harder. They come up with innovative ideas that they put into practice. Sorry, lady, it sounds beautiful to think that everyone would have what they want without working like CEOs and millionaires do, but it is not realistic. Nobody wants a communist country where everyone gets the same handouts.

    • @joanamartins3997

      October 31, 2026 at 8:43 pm

Bullshit. Most are already born rich and previleged. Also they make money exploring others, not working hard. They are corrupt, imoral and selfish.

    • @ChloéMonèt-f1w

      October 31, 2026 at 10:37 pm

@joanamartins3997How many of them do you personally know? And if some of them were born rich, what is wrong with that? They could throw away that money, but most of them increase it instead. I don’t get the hate when what they do is make the country prosper and create jobs; they don’t force anyone to buy their products or work for them. I prefer having millionaires improving the country over receiving only what the government could offer.

    • @FiveRomeoCharlie

      November 1, 2026 at 1:37 pm

@joanamartins3997 Do you feel exploited when you voluntarily purchase things like a cell phone, a car, a coffee?

    Exactly 👍🏻

  14. @petegranata

    • @justicewalking

      November 1, 2026 at 1:21 am

@petegranata At the rate we’re going and with the help of A.I. it won’t be too long until they will be joining the rest of the 90%

I don’t think anyone could’ve said that any better. I was clapping and I’m all the way across the world. It sucks that some jobs are like this I guess the only way you could explain it to a class like yours is have yourself and someone else standing on diving board and see who gets paid more for jumping off is giving your life sacrificing your time.. ❤️

  16. @joebagodonuts8119

    October 31, 2026 at 11:36 pm

That is NOT democracy means. And I guarantee you that she is not very democratic. She is the authoritarian that she claims to oppose.

So? This has been mathmatically true throughout history. Democracy does not mean power and profit. Also, u live in the greatest country of all time and have more power and compfort than every single king that EVER exsisted. Each person does. And u want more?

  22. @Nuke-U

    November 1, 2026 at 10:41 am

Theyre 281x more productive than avg. with decisions 281x more costly than avg. who have 281x more people depending on them than the avg joe

Capitalism worked for a while when the wealth was distributed among the majority of people. Now, it’s just destined to a catastrophic failure.
Poor people has no power, the US is more like a monarchy right now.

  25. @Bi678gf

    November 1, 2026 at 12:28 pm

It’s too late, the 1% holds all the money. They control your food, your medicine, your homes, your jobs, your means of transport. There’s no way out.

  26. @FiveRomeoCharlie

    November 1, 2026 at 1:39 pm

You can say it as loudly and passionately as you can, doesn’t make it true.

There’s a whole world of food growing right outside our doors — in our backyards, on sidewalks, in the parks we walk through every day — and most of us pass by it without a second glance. Alexis Nikole Nelson wants to change that. A self-described “ethnobotany nerd,” she’s spent years teaching people how to forage the wild food hiding in plain sight. She explores how paying closer attention to what’s already around us can reconnect us to the land, our communities and each other. (This conversation, hosted by TED’s Whitney Pennington Rodgers, was part of an exclusive TED Membership event.
