Indeed, they would easily 10x that cost to hire and train new people if they can even find new qualified engineers. But kudos for doing it regardless, some companies wait until it’s too late and lose huge sums due to lost talent.

18M in cash not to run away may be a thought, 180K in four years in stock??? this is not the Y2K anymore, two generation gap, a new way of thinking Tim Cook, you paying 250B for CHINA for five years, but paying the talent in 4, old generation thinking, how to lead an innovation company to think outside of the BOX for your back in time saying, around you are those think OUT of the space…

      December 30, 2021 at 8:36 pm

i honestly don’t think its a lot of money but look those employees are gonna leave regardless.
      why?
Apple attracts some of the best talents in engineering nationwide however these guys having seen it all and done it all may simply wanna go elsewhere or build their own company. Especially the ultra driven ones amongst them, $180k (especially in this crazy inflated economy) won’t make them quit their dreams

    • RILLA

      December 30, 2021 at 9:02 pm

@Mahdi You do realize this is only 1 of many forms of payments that people like Software Engineers make right? The average white collar workers at these companies receiving this bonus makes roughly 120 – 150 or more baseline, 180k in RSUs, and annual bonus or sign on bonus on top of traditional benefits. So packages that are worth 250 to 600k a year

    • RILLA

      December 30, 2021 at 9:06 pm

I mean not to be an asshole but as a Software Engineer who just joined this industry I can’t stand hearing people in a privelaged class talk about it not being a lot of money when I come from the other 50% of America that’s earning 42k or less a year, period. The way that comes off to my ears is like…. wooooow

    • Mahdi

      December 30, 2021 at 9:09 pm

@RILLA I agree with that you’re saying, however the article says up to 180k which we can assume is give to a small percentage of its employees. Most are given much lower.

    • Johnny Boy

      December 30, 2021 at 9:27 pm

@RILLA u don’t get it do you, i am not priviledged, $180k is good money but it aing necessarily life changing money for me.
i am a hardware design engineer and with the rising demand for my skills, sorry bruh that money only buys you (my employer) a couple more months.
not my fault, its just how capitalism works, gotta make hay whilst the sun shines and all.

I got the hell out of Corporate America and went my own way with a business and investments. I got tired of watching jackasses succeed in a system that rewards nut jobs, narcissists, assholes and is rife with nepotism. I tried to transfer to another dept that suited me better, but they wouldn’t accept me because they could hire someone with a college degree for less, even though those people never stuck around after training because they weren’t getting paid anything. The clown running the show actually recommended that I quit, finish my degree and come back to make less per hour.

This is really insulting for a 2 trillion dollar company. Vested 4 years? That’s $180,000 / 4 years, is about $45,000 a year. And you got to stay for 4 years – practically half a decade of your life. Nope.

Whatever you do, DON”T take a bonus, take a higher wage. Bonuses are taxed at a much higher rate, AND its 1 time event, vs an every paycheck event. ALSO, you should be demanding a 4%+Federal Reserve Interest rate, inflation increase every year to only KEEP UP with inflation. Otherwise, you are loosing.
More importantly why are you trading time for money, when the Federal Reserve/US Gov created 10 trillion of it last year? Seems to me you should be starting your own business, that could later be sold for 1000x what you could make your entire life being an employee.

@Wandering Liam No doubt Expert Cathy Trading Services is very good, I invested $5,000 and cashed out $14,700 after 3 weeks. I still wonder how she gets her analysis.

    • Mary Effiong

      This is quite needful but
for beginners you shouldn’t settle for videos alone or you see yourself loosing all your money just like me when I started trading with this videos on here. We should be prepared to contribute.

    • Emmanuel Dennis

      January 1, 2022 at 3:25 am

There are already financial analysts and trading experts(Phds) who have shelled out theories and ideas for years, but that doesn’t mean you can’t contribute. I highly recommend Expert mrs Cathy. She is the best indeed.

Maybe some Apple employees are sick and damn tired of the super-majority of political asses in Sacramento, and know that their policies are a flat set of multiple failures. Maybe they’re actually tired of being in the worst taxed state in the United States, and they realize they need to move to a conservative run state which is much more friendly to business, as so many other former Californians have already done. Oh sorry… we can’t possibly talk about such political realities on a tech channel.

40K a year is not worth staying if you are a top talent of Apple.
