Education activist (and recent Oxford graduate) Malala Yousafzai reflects on the defining moments of her life, how she balances passion with personhood and where the world finds itself during the COVID-19 crisis. With humor and humility, she shares her dreams of seeing social progress in her lifetime, explains why girls education advocacy must not relent during the pandemic and champions youth activists worldwide leading the fight for a fairer future for all. (This virtual conversation, hosted by TED’s current affairs curator Whitney Pennington Rodgers, was recorded July 8, 2020.)

The TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). *An optimistic look at the future of girls’ education | Malala Yousafzai: Such words are very cheap when we all know that Miss Malala Yousafzai has and still being used as a propaganda against Islam and Muslims by the same TERRORISTS who invaded illegally and unconstitutionally Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Syria ….etc* .

Something TED is very good at, keep talking about it. If you hear something repeat it, see something take photos. And to the degree that it is safe for you to do so, don’t let oppression be casual. Challenge every word and action. Don’t worry about changing minds, worry about girls getting to hear that they are worthy.

She got alot done while at home and she even got house work done and stuff at home while doing everything she said at home but she seems to be educated and put thought into what she’s talking about and it’s messed up that the world is the way it is cause people should be free to be who they want to be and not have to worry about what color they r cause we have good people of all colors and we have bad ones of all colors it’s not suppose to be the way it is with all the hate and bad stuff we r suppose to come together as one nation United as one in God we trust and we need to stand together why should we judge or hate others seriously who cares if someone is gay or a different color if they r a good person then it don’t matter what matters is making change in the world and fixing all the wrong and damage but that won’t happen if we all fall apart the only way is if we come together and work as one

Empathy based, holistic, universal aptitude developing, experiential learning, with diligent counseling facilities, have to be the primary goal of all nations. Finland and Japan are at the forefront of this frontier but there is still room for quantum leaps for it to go mainstream. Value education, proper nutrition, grounding daily to sacred mother Earth with natural environs incorporated in schools, sports and athletics…the first principle for universal education is the *extinction of war* and I’m quixotic enough to believe i will see it in my lifetime. Technology, the 4th industrial revolution, the not-so-gentle intervention of COVID 19, drastic weather patterns and above all, the immense potential of social capital are all accelerating collective consciousness, perhaps to the point where *ONLY* mothers will be allowed to head governments. Men are clearly unable to multitask and governance is multitasking on steroids. Love and good energy to Malala and TED from Goa, India

O People, it is true that you have certain rights over your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under God’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Treat your women well and be kind to them, for they are your partners and committed helpers. It is your right and they do not make friends with anyone of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste…

How can you get a Noble Peace Prize for promoting girls education in a country you don’t even live in?

Why do the celebrities only support the cause of Malala and not locals?

Why she never spoke about the drone war in Pakistan which killed over 160 children?

Thousands of women in Pakistan are dying for even a greater cause.

WALEED KHAN a 14 year old boy was shot 8 bullets right into his face when he tried to stop Talibans who attacked an Army school in Pakistan.

What about millions of children who died in US led war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Syria? Don’t they deserve the same prestige?

Happily living in UK enjoying the luxury, running away from the cause and commenting Pakistan is a safe country now and least bothered about the main cause which got you famous isn’t what you call a leader.

Im so sorry that she had to go through something so tragic but i donot understand why did she get such extra treatment? Many other girls were also shot along with her but ive never seen them studying in oxford and availing such luxuries. Malala claims to be an advocate for women, humanity but sadly she has never raised her voice for what has been happening in syria, kashmir!

In a part of the United States with more than 17,000 years of human history, cultural preservation advocate Tracie Revis is working to turn the Ocmulgee Mounds into Georgia’s first national park and preserve. This park would be co-managed by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, bringing the tribal voice back to an area they were forcibly removed from 200 years ago. Revis explores the complex feelings of caring for this land and shows how it’s fostering healing in return.

Hundreds of millions of migrant workers travel within their countries to seek out means of survival — often leaving behind all they know for months or even years. Many face poverty and exploitation, and they need a robust social safety net to protect them, says migrant advocate and 2023 Audacious Project grantee Ashif Shaikh. He shares how his grassroots organization Migrants Resilience Collaborative is making life-changing benefits like social security and health care accessible to those who need them while also amplifying migrant voices — paving the way towards a world that supports the workers actually building it. (This ambitious idea is a part of the Audacious Project, TED’s initiative to inspire and fund global change.)
