Is this a joke? This is ridiculous, they probably spent millions researching this. This has already been invented and perfected. We just need modern updates. Come to New York it’s called a subway all you need to do is build a high-speed subway system which it seems like they’ve taken their queue from but you’re just in a car which would be Les then I deal for the amount of people that would be using the service. I thought Elon musk was a genius or something. But I guess he is, take an existing thing and swap the train out for your cars and sell it as a new idea SMH

Why is Tesla/Boring not confident of letting Tesla’s drive autonomously inside the 1.7 mile long tunnel?! Should be easier because of fixed route, no traffic, and short distance.

I guess it’s hard for a billonaire to come up with something “for the masses”. This is ridiculous, and the fanboy’s only defense for it is that “it’s cheaper than building a subway”. So what? it’s also slower and less efficient. Those stupid LED colored tunnels is what desperate marketing looks like.

      June 9, 2021 at 7:48 pm

It’s literally been proven to be as efficient in moving people as the subway.

Why don’t people understand that for this to even be approved to open and operate it’d have to be safe in a situation like a fire. This would not be allowed to carry passengers otherwise. Plus, no one ever talks about elevators and if a fire were to occur in the building. How would people get out of the elevator? If someone disagrees with me about the fire safety I’m perfectly open to having a calm and respectful conversation.

  53. Lachlan Brown

    June 11, 2021 at 5:15 am

Why is America so obsessed with cars? Does musk realise that if his company or government built good public transport infrastructure there would be no traffic? The solution to gridlock isn’t adding more cars and traffic lanes to highways. It’s creating alternatives that allow people to leave their cars in the suburbs and commute via other means. This project is a complete failure of urban planning and development and detracts others from investing in real public transport. 5 people in a car vs 500 on a subway car what a joke.

I think that all of the people who attack the tunnel need to understand this: Its their 2nd tunnel and first commercial one ever. Its like the 2008 Roadster. It was expensive, and not that practical, but it was a proof of concept, Is the tunnel now “Boring” and slow? Yes you can’t deny it, but as they gain experience and cash, along with permission with a hint of autonomy, you will see the tunnels become more. Don’t listen to what some *Unnamed Youtubers* say about the system now, they will convince you that the system now is what they want more of like on the Full Vegas loop, all the same, but that simply isn’t true. A lot of what they said only months ago their math, all of their reasoning “The system will only hit 1000 capacity and not 4400.” But after testing we now know that 4400 was an understatement.

Always make sure to do your research.

For those saying a Metro system and highspeed trains. Cost and American politics are major factors in this whole endeavour. According to Elon, the total cost per passenger per year for the proposed “boring loop” will be a fraction of a Metro system. Plus, a lot of American cities tend to favour “Automobile Projects”, probably something to do with the “American dream” and “individual liberty” blah blah blah. Bottom line, the man saw a gap on the market for a solution involving cars, I am sure he did a thorough feasibility study. But, hey, I am just a random dude on a random comment section. 😁🤠

    Why not autonomous?

  115. didier severac

    June 23, 2021 at 9:35 am

If they cant even run automated in this conditions when will it be in the open roads !?

  116. Philip

    June 23, 2021 at 2:41 pm

So, it’s like a privatized car/subway on rubber wheels. So, if demand grows significantly, I wonder will they be able to link cars together, and go faster than 35 mph like a real subway train 🚇?

  117. Michael Wallace

    June 23, 2021 at 11:33 pm

No way would I go in that

  118. ACC QPQP

    June 24, 2021 at 3:58 am

we already had alot of car tunnels in the world, new science break through !!!

  119. veawr

    June 24, 2021 at 4:58 pm

it trully is a boring tunnel

  120. John Versoza

    June 24, 2021 at 9:03 pm

Put the electric wheel light rail style bus for the tunnel idea not the car without rail track.

    I can see it now
“We at the Boeing company believe highly in sustainability and renewable resources so we designed an engine to run on the evaporation of water, however we need large tanks of water to boil, so we will come them the boiling room”

  123. Mohamed Atef

    June 25, 2021 at 1:08 pm

    Mind-blowing.
So basically expensive extra limited lane that is only for Tesla’s taxis.

  124. Avionic7779x

    June 25, 2021 at 4:51 pm

Americans: We have really bad traffic in our cities! What should we do???
Asians and Europeans: Dude just build a metro system and good public transportation networks as well as high speed rail. Not that hard
Americans: We got it! UNDERGROUND TESLA TUNNELS!!!!
    Asians and Europeans: *facepalm*

  125. Saffy Daffy

    June 26, 2021 at 7:03 am

    Why not a subway?

  126. Manuel Niño

    June 26, 2021 at 6:05 pm

Why is the United States so weird? Seriously, a car tunnel? WTF americans!

  127. Cube

    June 26, 2021 at 9:28 pm

“it’s kinda cool, there’s like LED lights”

The boring company’s projects in a nutshell

  128. Cube

    June 26, 2021 at 9:35 pm

This should be accessible to all trafic, with payment of course. There’s literally no reason for the cars to be Teslas.
It’s stupid, it’s a semi private subterranean transport BY CAR.
Why don’t you make it a train instead? There’s no point in having the same cars down there for long periods of time. Cars have less capacity than trains, etc.
And people have to park their car somewhere near and get down there to use yet another car, or walk from the hotel or whatever to the tunnels, which is what they wanted to avoid anyways.

This is not futuristic, it’s going a step back and adding LED lights to it.

It’s even cheaply made, you can see that the panels of the tunnel are made of plastic and get dirty, and all it really has is a big screen and led strips to the sides

And you get the least qualified person to talk about it, she was obviously delighted by the lame RGB light show

    • Matthew M

      June 29, 2021 at 5:22 pm

They will only let EV drive in the tunnel because ventilation.

  129. Onsokumaru

    June 27, 2021 at 2:30 am

So what they have achieved with this is just the addition of one underground mono road lane, Yeay!

I definetely have to do this thrill ride!!! 200 mph on german Autobahn gets boring.

    June 28, 2021 at 9:47 pm

The solution for traffic is to give everyone a helicopter.

  133. Sander de Boer

    June 29, 2021 at 6:58 am

Americans seem to only be able to think in cars as being the solution for everything. Youtube doesnt allow me too say much these days, but please start thinking of implementing walkability, cycling infrastructure and public transport.

  136. BFGB

    June 29, 2021 at 2:38 pm

What was the capacity 440 Person per Hour? Well this Train on my Profil picture (called Doppelstock Pendel Zug DPZ) can per unit (2 Wagen 2. CLASS 1 Wagen 1. Class) carry up to 400 passenger and couple 3 trainsset with have a capacity of 1200 person per Train not per hour.

    • BFGB

      June 29, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Plus this Trainset operates in canton Zürich -(Switzerland) with only have around 1 Mio Person.

  137. CryoNios

    June 29, 2021 at 4:33 pm

This is such an American solution to traffic problems… like just build a damn metro system…

Because it is. Where tf are the pods that were promised? 35mph? Seriously?

  141. Mohamad Rifat Ahmed

    June 30, 2021 at 8:18 pm

People who don’t understand the point of tunnel you need tunnel vision. If you take your car everywhere but you are stuck you can’t just leave the car on the road and get on metro, you take a tunnel.

  142. Afnan Acchan

    June 30, 2021 at 10:17 pm

2:12 this would be great, but not this tesla taxi tunnel.

  143. Bob Jones

    July 1, 2021 at 2:59 am

Absolute garbage. Subways, monorails and terminal trains at airports have been around for decades. They are fully autonomous, faster and carry way more people…..kinda what this was supposed to do!

  144. Victor Oel

    July 1, 2021 at 7:05 pm

    Rich transport

  145. Parker Montalbano

    July 1, 2021 at 7:18 pm

I think people are missing the purpose of this…. it isn’t supposed to be some cool fun thing. It is just a new way of public transportation.

    emissionsfree subterrainian transport… so a metro… or underground trams…
3:40 yeah i can totally imagine tens of thounsands of people coming done there to go to the stadium. You cant even put enough teslas down there to carry all of those people.

  151. Mark

You Elon Musk haters are as uninformed as your posts imply.

  152. Polyanne Batista Ribeiro

  153. JayAr02

  156. Dhiya Khairi

    July 7, 2021 at 8:48 am

Too many downgrades from the original concept
    1. Cars on Podcars in Tunnels
    2. Cars in Guided Tunnels
    3. Unguided Tesla in Tunnels

  157. S Thompson

    July 7, 2021 at 9:26 am

Foreigner laugh about American fascination with the car. American built a world class road system, our cars provide world-class freedoms. When I go overseas, I see adult men riding scooters. Just saying..

  158. BK0101 02

    July 7, 2021 at 2:56 pm

    But guys… it has AC!!!!
