6:28 can someone please explain the Hindi pun?

    • @princessmayonnaise

      October 13, 2026 at 3:23 pm

Hindi + indie, as in indie cinema. Hindi is properly pronounced like “hin-thee,” but with the pun, she’s saying “hin-dee,” combining Hindi and indie.

The origin of songs in Bollywood due to local theaters happening across India covering epics like Ramayana or Mahabharata. Ram leela plays happening all over India created the inspiration for first movie Ayodhyecha Raja by Dadasaheb Phalke who brought movie magic to India

She is not an expert. She is just a Bollywood bhakth. She calls Bollywood as Indian film industry 🤣🤣😂😂

    October 13, 2026 at 4:33 pm

Dhurandhar is the movie which revitalized the movie industry. I still don’t know why they didn’t send it to Oscar for best Indian film. First one was a masterpiece

1:11 as a branch off of this question, if you love Bollywood movies with songs, I highly recommend Mohabattein and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the songs in it and the placement is just…muahhhh 😘👌

A reverse question- Why are Non Resident Indians so outdated with Bollywood, often seeming ’stuck in the 90s’ 🙂 The only new ones you’re talking about are the ones heavily marketed in the West.

  19. @its_vkj

    October 13, 2026 at 6:09 pm

Stop calling Bollywood the mainstream industry – she said it 5 times. Hindi films over the last few years have been garbage compared to Telugu and Tamil productions. “Dhurandhar” was an exception and even that had a nationalist agenda.
