Jessica Irwin! Thank you for speaking out. I running late today and my loved ones birthday and this loved one died in February of ALS, which forced her to become nonverbal. I saw all the injustices and tried to stop as many as I could. I will definitely look you up and see where I can help so others can stop being treated this way. They are all intelligent, capable talented and need to be treated as such. They have a voice that needs to be heard. Their ability to choose/be heard should not be taken away from them.

Congrats to all the passionate speakers on their great ideas and passions, especially Tim Cernak from the University of Michigan! He appeared at Chicago’s TED talk, but Michigan gets to claim him.

Community Notes on X started with a wild idea: Instead of tech companies deciding what’s true, what if you let people fact-check each other? Jay Baxter and Keith Coleman, who helped build the crowdsourced system adding context to misleading posts, discuss how the program reduces viral misinformation — and why people across the political spectrum trust it. In conversation with TED guest curator Audrey Tang, they discuss how their “surprising agreement” algorithm could reveal the common ground that quietly exists across a polarized internet. (Followed by a note from TED guest curators Divya Siddarth and Audrey Tang) (Recorded at TED2026 on April 14, 2026)
