The year 2000: Steve Jobs on the stage announced Aqua design which was inspired by liquid but6 it was limited by the hardware limitations of the time. MS of course expanded on that and made Aero (quite creative design wise but a complete macOS Tiger rip off feature wise btw) and the unaware simply claim that Liquid Glsss is what MS Vista was without even knowing that Vista was simply transparency with blur effects which Liquid Glass is not.

1:50 what does “it’s coming on android 16” mean… Live notifications has been in android since android 11…
It’s just that very few apps use this function (as well as on iOS by the way). as I understand it, it’s hard to implement, that’s why everyone ignores this function, except for duolingo and a few delivery and taxi apps 🙂

2:10 the notification grouping feature has also been around for ages, probably since android 8 😅 Where do you get your information from?

Apple spends a lot of time researching and creating a good-looking UI. On the other hand, Google focuses more on adding functionality and copying current trends

Apple’s Liquid Glass is based on work from Apple’s own Aqua UI that existed years before Microsoft’s Vista. Steve Jobs literally said: ‘the goal is to make the interface almost water like’.

I believe that, in order not to overwhelm European users with new operating systems and to avoid making any existing company feel threatened by innovation, manufacturers have little incentive to bring truly innovative products to market. As long as the EU prioritizes simplicity and bureaucracy, this stagnation will continue. It’s similar to a classroom where some students don’t understand anything and others are bored.. the teacher can only stick to the curriculum, otherwise some get left behind.

In my opinion, we’re living in a rather dull era for tech enthusiasts when it comes to smartphones, partly due to the EU. Competition thrives on innovation, not regulation. But when everything is standardized and dictated, it inevitably becomes boring.. humanity seems to be leaning toward sameness (or should I say EU-ness?).

Just to name one example: Oppo and Vivo don’t even seem to need the European market anymore^^ and if Apple or Samsung make the same move, Europe can use there simple products^^

Why has CNET become a hate baiting channel stead of focusing on the innovations and new technologies clarifying to users what they are and why they exist?!
