The XM5 had a serious issue: Its hinges were notoriously fragile and always broke. I’m glad they fixed it. Although I have and absolutely love my Sennheiser Momentum 4, I will get the XM6 as an extra pair. Good job, Sony! On the other hand, 30 hours of battery is fine, but could be better

I have the Xm4s and Bose QC35 and I like the Bose better for faster connections, better controls and no annoying ambient sound mode when touching the right ear piece accidentally. I wish they had USB C connection as all my devices do except them and the ear cups and headband wore sooner than the Sony’s XM4s. The Sony’s also have better battery life but either works even for long flights if they are fully charged. I think my next buy will be Bose again or maybe the XM6s.

My wife and I both have the latest Bose headphones and the XM5. We’ve been testing them back to back and it’s honestly not even close for our ears. When you’re watching TV and you take them off your head and the show you’re watching stops and when you put them back on your head. It starts again. When I take calls on the XM5 people can’t even believe how great it sounds so I’m not even sure how they could make the XM6 any better but it is on my short list because we find ourselves fighting over the XM5 headphones right now. We will end up buying a paid of the Apple Pro in ears when they come out later this year just because we’re also very active and we love wearing those outside.

I’ve got the XM3 and XM4 which I love. I’m not sure when perfection peaks because headphone manufacturers have to have a reason to sell you something every year. I’ll wait until 2 years before getting the XM6. Looks great and I’ve always been a fan of Sony when it comes to headphones.

I just got the Bose QC Ultra last month and I immediately regretted buying it. As an Apple user, I am extremely disappointed that I can’t listen to higher quality audio on my devices. I thought that it would work with a wired connection , but actually the wired connection sounded much worse. It was so furious that I sent them an email complaining and I’m ready to sell them if anyone is interested to buy them. Android users wouldn’t have this issue, but I’m also annoyed that tech companies are now limiting the features of their devices to specific devices. It is such a selfish, backwards decision that ruins the experience for their customers. I hope they can stop this dictatorship and chill out. It’s good to have a seamless ecosystem, but it’s more important to be progressive and make sure all customers can enjoy all of the features that the devices offer. Apple are really pushing us away with their sneaky little tactics. If I pay for something that is much more expensive than the other alternatives, it must be worth it.

Awesome review! I had these headphones on my radar for quite some time now. I’m coming over from Bose headphones. The Bose QC Ultra I didn’t like. I didn’t like the way they felt. I ended up returning them. I have the previous Bose model instead. It’s definitely time for an upgrade. I placed my order for these Sony headphones. It’s my first ones that I can remember. Bose lost me with their last headphones. I can’t wait to try these out.
