But Meta or X is doing the same!!! Why are you so scared? Because it’s Chinese?!

You are missing the point. Meta and X are collecting data but the US government is not using their data to target Americans. China is using TikTok to collect data to target Americans which is very dangerous…and this is why the US seeks to band TikTok or for it to be sold to a US entity.

Just ban TikTok finally in EU as well!

We will be going back to 2015 with this ban, the algorithms used in other social media platforms are nowhere near tiktoks. The US will lose a massive platform that helps people share ideas and spread information. The US is going to be even further behind technology wise. Not sure where this obsession comes from to go back to the past and this cold war mentality

It’s kind of amazing that there aren’t any real competitors to TikTok. The space seems wide open.

OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger takes us back to the transformative moment he let his AI agent loose on the internet, igniting one of the world’s fastest-growing open-source projects. He makes a fascinating (and slightly unnerving) case that agents are a real shift, not just better versions of chatbots, and explores how they might reshape your ability to work, build and create. “The lobster is loose, and it’s not going back into the tank,” he says. (Followed by a brief Q&A with TED Chairman Chris Anderson) (Recorded at TED2026 on April 16, 2026)
