I’m not judging the book by it’s cover, I’m judging the author for choosing it 😂 Same with videos, the faces people use to lure people in, clickbate texts 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m really glad he doesn’t do the cartoonishly shocked face while pointing at an empty patch of sky that’s circled in red with a big red arrow also pointing at the obviously empty bit. Thank you Tom. And Wired for that matter. Y’all aren’t offenders either. 💖

    It’s ok for dishonest people.

  9. @judalea17

nothing annoys me quite like sensationalised thumbnails that either aren’t featured in the video, or are patently false

and of course, when you first said “thumb nail” my thought was “what about the nail on my thumb?” -_-

  10. @suspencer31

    June 11, 2026 at 10:45 am

I’m not seeing anyone else comment that they assumed he meant the nails on our thumbs at first so yeah me neither I also didn’t think that

they certainly do. when i see those thumbnails with those ridiculous expressions, i bypass… matter fact some time i click the side of it and say do not recommend. cant be that creative if your thumbnail is that trashy

“i make factual content so i want it to be real” implies “fake thumbnail means fake content” which is usually true

Just looking at the thumbnail of this video I can confidently say that what he said went over @Wired ‘s heads. Why do you put a guys mouth as a thumbnail like seriously 😅

Mythology expert and Professor of classics Peter Meineck deep dives into all 48 of the constellations the ancient Greeks used in the night sky. From maritime navigation to agriculture and timekeeping, Meineck explains how eight main groupings of constellations were tracked in the night sky—and how they translate to today’s mythological storytelling.

Check out Peter’s book here:

WIRED recommends:

What do Iron Man and Odysseus have in common? The book traces Marvel’s intricate universe back to its earliest mythological roots. Meineck uses beloved heroes like Spider-Man and antiheroes like Deadpool to demonstrate how ancient themes persist in today’s pop culture. He draws compelling parallels, connecting Black Panther to the legend of Atlantis and revealing how disabled heroes like Daredevil have archetypes dating back to Hercules. The book explores the shared struggles of characters like Scarlet Witch and the sorceress Medea, showing how these timeless narratives have shifted to reflect society’s changing values.
