One of the best thing about dude is that he never takes credit for himself when he achieves something. He always respect us, the audience and his team, and he is polite in all his videos. We congratulate ourselves on this achievement. More to come..

Would have loved to see the night vision view, my ring doorbell is really bad for that.

My Ring doorbell has great night vision. It has two IR leds to illuminate.

Great video. The outtakes are pure gold.

if you have blink camera system already go with blink, otherwise wyze.

You can look at a live view on the Blink by the way any time you want. Simply tpuch the video icon on the home screen of the app.

Live view requires that a sync module be installed. Currently you can buy the Blink video doorbell with sync module on sale for $60.

    • Jeff Shockley

      February 17, 2022 at 12:01 am

@Richard Fedder Nice and that makes it cheaper than wyze

    • Richard Fedder

      February 17, 2022 at 12:09 am

@Jeff Shockley Right; and if you already have a sync module (for your existing Blink cameras) the video doorbell alone is currently only $40.

the fact u can steal these so easily means they are both worthless

    • John King

      February 18, 2022 at 12:50 pm

The Ring doorbell is much harder to remove and has free replacement if stolen.

Its a little frustrating that the assumption is that 50 dollars more is entirely worth the hilariously minor improvements one device offers over another. Editors at Cnet are clearly making way more money than I am, if that wasn’t evident from that porch. Very out of touch attitude.

One correction, even though the Blink says it can be wired…it actually doesn’t power the doorbell. Its only wired to make your existing doorbell chime ring. Whereas the Wyze can be wired to power + ring your existing doorbell chime. So in short, don’t buy the Blink.

The Wyze url takes us to a $299 version. I don’t see a $90 version anywhere.

the single most important thing is how long it takes to show the live feed after someone hits the bell. If you can not timely do a two way talk while seing whats going on it’s useless. all other features are secondary. I have nest and i’ve integrated it into home assistant and I’ve made an automation to get a voice notification on my google home mini which says ‘person’ when it detects a person.

Thank you the review. These devices are just adding to the unnecessary surveillance, faux victim and paranoia!

How many packages a day do you typically steal?

Love the video; I am a Wyze fan with literally dozens of their products. You just can’t beat Wyze for cost, features, compatibility and ease of installation. Love the outtake ending!

I have a couple of Wyze V3 cameras and really like them.
The Wyze doorbell however does not allow for a micro sd card to record events or 24/7 like the V3 does. Otherwise I would have already bought one.

    February 18, 2022 at 4:34 am

The Wyze battery last 2 weeks, on power save mode, low distance alert, recording 9am-9pm window. Might get 6 months of turn off all features and only record when doorbell is pushed. It’s an unrealistic battery life selling point.

    • John King

      February 18, 2022 at 12:49 pm

My Ring doorbell has some 4 months between charges.

  24. John King

    February 18, 2022 at 12:48 pm

The Ring door bell is much better than these two. Although it has the same sort of delay which makes two-way communication a bit hit and miss.

Check out Eufy wireless doorbell. No monthly fees… videos securely saved locally. Great video.

Other than the Ring doorcam which I have on order, 2 months and counting… Could you do a review on any other peephole doorcams if indeed, there are any more out there other than Ring? I’m just interested, plus I think it would be useful for people who live in rentals who cannot hard wire in some of these door cams for obvious reasons, or they don’t have a plug socket within easy reach of the door.
