In certain coastal cities, like Hong Kong, sea water is used for flushing toilet. Since it is already not drinkable, the treatment for the water intake takes less electricity and chemicals. It makes treating waste fresh water a lot cheaper too since all the toilet waste are treated separately. While setting up three separate water systems, fresh water, salt water, and storm drains, is expensive at first, it save money in the long run.

My college used reclaimed and cleaned graywater in the restroom sinks and toilets. While signs along the lines of “Don’t drink the sink water” had to be posted, it otherwise worked out fine. I live in a desert and so we don’t really have the option of seawater, but based on experience I do agree that non-potable flush water is a good idea.

The house we live in is only about 50 years old and we just had to shell out thousands to replace the ENTIRE septic system. The ENTIRE THING! It took months and thats just for our own house… a house thats only 50 years old. These things truly weren’t made to last when initially built. Our new septic system is top of the line now and shouldn’t need even maintenance for 100+ years but my god, its SO expensive.

    Coming soon… the *Apple iShat*

No handles. No visible poo-poo exit hole. Just a chair that looks like a lego block in white.

You approach the ‘block’ and it automatically conforms to your a** size/dimension like a Tony Stark Iron Man suit as you sit.

It then opens the poo-poo exit hole based on your weight / “package size”.

An augmented reality display appears showing you in 3D-form, complete with details like how much force to push or how much you need to ‘unload’.

Once you’re done with your business, just say “Siri, I’m done.”

Siri: “Okay. Would you like me to wash your a**?” _Yes!_

Siri then begins the procedure of washing your a** with high tech lasers that cleans every single atom and molecule of crap on you. 99.9% clean.

    The Apple iShat.

    Revolutionary. Freeing. Revolting.

This is in Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. It’s actually more about the safety of the room, rather than the toilet.
