How is it that energy from the sun is still coming in at the same rate through the allegedly thicker glass while heat escapes back into space at a slower rate, something sounds fishy here.

The explanation is simplified. CO2 absorbs infrared light given off by the earth but not UV and visible light from the sun, the same way ozone absorbs UV light but not the others.

well, you need the scientific prove of that, because it is already a fact.
The air and temperature of a wide open farm its way better than any city with gas pollution.
And pollution layer stops in troposhpere, while ozone is in stratosphere, in a brand view (and in MY VIEW), the reflected heat produced by pollution is thrown back to us by the wind.
But volcanoes pollute way more, are known for ages, and we still live in a good Environment.

No, though CO2 concentrations rose from ~180ppm to 265ppm in 7000 years (18.000 to 11.000 years ago) as those glaciers were melting.

its not a matter of what people tell you, its easy to test whether or not CO2 is a green house gass, its easy to calculate how much youd have to release for it to be an issue.

The earth has been in a COOLING downtrend for over 10 years… ALL this is based off of PHONY, FAKE, FALSE DATA.
IF you check the RAW data you will find the earth has been cooling. OOPS!

@Dave of OZ EVERYTHING I have said is 100% FACT >>> You can check the data yourself, the RAW is not the same as the modified data set, and this is something nasa, noaa, and a few concerted pseudoscientists like mike mann have been doing for years and years now
The data tampering is pretty easy and clear for any ecologist or biologist to spot, and we all know this anyway >> CO2 CANT do what eco nuts claim, the physics of CO2 doesn’t allow for it, and there are numerous other mechanisms in play when it comes to climate.
Cloud cover, for one, completely over dominates ANY effect ALL greenhouse gasses combined could possibly have, and low atmospheric clouds cool the earth >> this effect, again, completely obliterates any supposed effect from CO2 or other GHGs.
Not to mention..> LOL.. the carbon cycle… It takes 20.. TWENTY years for a CO2 molecule to absorb enough infrared radiation to then re-emit it later, BUT a CO2 molecule only stays around for 6, SIX years in the atmosphere before it goes somewhere else in the cycle >>> IE. you emit carbon from a car tailpipe, it is absorbed by the trees or oceans within 6 years, NOT enough time to have any global warming effect.. OOPS PHYSICS!
The earth has been warming since the end of the last ice age over 12k years ago and will continue to warm for thousands of years.

How do you explain that during the recent CV19 shutdown, when the entire world was in “LOCK DOWN”, it virtually ceased its production of GREENHOUSE GASES (very dramatic reduction of CO2, world-wide), YET we observed the average world temperature INCREASE by several degrees? We have NEVER had the opportunity to test this concept until now. Preliminary conclusions show that the CO2 concentration levels DO NOT have the influence on Global Warming that we had believed.
In fact, we REDUCED the CO2 and Temperatures ROSE. Which indicates an INVERSE correlation with Global Temperatures!

Looks like “Climate scientists” formed their opinions FIRST, and every since then, have cherry-picked the evidence, searching for facts which support their existing conclusions. But we would not have had any confirming evidence of their improper deviation from the SCIENTIFIC METHOD, if not for the world-wide Corona Virus Lock Down. We just saw a rise in temps, after a MAJOR reduction of CO2 production, World-Wide. This is contrary to our understanding of the role of CO2’s influence in our climate models.
(Hint: Solar Particle Climate Forcing is the PRIMARY and most significant cause of Climate Change, rendering Anthropogenic Climate Forcing, INSIGNIFICANT, by comparison.)

There is one FACT climate scientists IGNORE, and its contribution to increasing temperatures could be huge, fae higher than human contribution: Volcanoes and vents in the DEEP OCEANS trenches: We IGNORE how many, where they are, how much ENERGY they contribute to heat the waters which in turn heat the ocean’s surface temperatures, which are THE determinators of earth’s surface temperature.
We do NOT have the resources (technical nor money committed to it) to go and find out how much that ENERGY is, and WITHOUT knowing it, we have many “scientists” scaring us, declaring US guilty (remnants of religions’ “SINS”) not even talking about it, which NOT a HONEST scientific attitude, behaving as sycho-terrorists.

Volcanoes are not ignored, they are part of the overall picture and we release way more Co2 from our activities.
We are in a relatively quiet volcanic period, in the past, volcanoes and flood basalts have been responsible for massive climate change and extinction events, yes, by spewing out huge amounts of Co2, remember Co2, that stuff you reckon doesn’t effect climate.

Those temperature increases can only come from BELOW the oceans, because if it was due to the greenhouse effect, they MUST be uniform.

@The Mean Arena Yea the earth is warming and the summer and the winter is getting hotter. The last five years were the five hottest years in recorded history. Maybe you can’t feel it so clearly, but things are changing. We are talking about small changes with big impact. Only a few degree changes are catastrophic.
Where I live, It’s also not very visible, except that there was no snow anymore in winter and the summer is getting really dry. Let’s hope things don’t get so bad, that we will have to live with them every day, because we cannot reverse them.

@emily I think you mean ice at the north pole? The north pole was ice free 2.8 million years ago. That happens quite often. What’s bad about this, is at what speed this change happens. Many ecological systems may not have enough time to adapt.

The carbon barrier easily allows short wavelength radiation to enter (heat energy coming in), but not long wavelength radiation to exit (heat energy leaving). Hope that helps (“,)
