We are already in the big crash, Inflation is a
catastrophe. This CPI report is a colossal failure. To
bring the housing market to a halt, the FED will have
to pull all the stops. The unfortunate issue is that
other markets are being decimated.If you want to
stay green, you have to rely on a lot of
diversification. Currently up 14% and being careful.
Still a better deal than leaving it in a savings or
checking account yielding 0-1 percent interest.

We have not had a proper rain fall in the eastern UK for months. Yet most people simply cannot do the maths, not even news reporters. Drought + crops/wildlife/plants = death. Luckily we have a harvest this year but will we have one next year? 🤔

You’re mistake my friend. Your graphic models are wrong, and you speak from your own personal perspective. The locals don’t want migrants. Holland Germany and Canda have a tiny Army and are developed countries that are rich. Some of the immigrants don’t assimilate and want to transform their host from within. Moreover, the upsurge of crime violence and autonomous lawless enclaves is a big problem in France for example. Further, Britain not being British is sad for me multi culturalism fails in the end because there can be only one dominant culture in a specific region. I think that sovereignty is good and that people should be loyal to their home country. You also don’t mention important countries like China and India as if it’s the west and the rest your preconception is either naive selfish or wrong.

You are unfortunately right. The problem is exactly what you say, migration only works well if there is cultural assimilation and that only happens if you don’t have too many migrants and those are evenly distributed throughout the country. I don’t think mass migration is a serious option, rich countries have modern armies and they will use them to stop it. One possibility, although also ethically highly questionable, would be to migrate only children to new families in their host countries. This could work but again, who really wants that? The only real option would be to create new countries in those habitable zones but no existing country would want that so yeah, this will be a gigantic humanitarian crisis…

Interesting video…BUT…the focus on temperatures and turning areas of the map red based entirely on projected temperature increase is a bit short-sighted in my opinion. What about water (or lack of it?) What about food supply based on projected climate change models? It seems to me that we should be thinking about the future and the “needs” of humans more from the perspective of a conservation biology point of view. So…food, water, shelter should be the first priorities. In the U.S., we seem to think “enterprise” first and then also think about food, shelter, water later. And, then we think that somehow via some technological magic, we will take care of the basic necessities of life later. Sort of like fostering a huge human population growth model in the desert because we will simply control nature by damming up rivers and installing large water distribution pipes. As we reach the 10 billion global population level, and the global climate changes, AND we continue down the track of the loss of global biodiversity (over fished oceans for example), we simply can not “wish” ourselves to a more sustainable future, nor can we ignore the basic necessities of human…and all life…on Earth because we believe we have the technological capacity to “fix” everything.

Loved this. Very hopeful.
One factor that was not even touched on here because it is not obviously a problem in larger counties with huge areas of agricultural land. That’s food.
With huge areas suffering massive climate related food production problems and in this I would include the American mid west there is a crisis looming in food production. Seeing population increase in smaller post industrial countries such as Britain, the simplistic idea of “Build more housing” is causing a rapid decrease in available farm land as making housing on virgin farmland is way cheaper than reusing redundant industrial land. The UK is so far from self sufficiency in food that recent world shortages are beginning to effect our food supply chains. Furthermore we have a government far from sympathetic to immigration and one that is turning further to the right all the time. I have no reason to doubt the figures you present regarding the numbers and ease of entry into the UK but public attitudes to immigration are hardening not softening. Cherry picking migrants for their existing skills in nursing and truck driving will do nothing to stem the flood of people willing to risk their lives crossing the English channel / La Manche and likewise those trying their luck on the crossing into the USA.

Good points! Regarding housing – and the infrastructure that is directly attached, in Germany we’re finding ourselves with a growing problem of sealed grounds (I don’t know a better fitting word in English). It basically means that natural ground is able to take in and store quite large amounts of rain water, like a sponge. Once too much of it is covered, by buildings, roads, sidewalks, etc., this valuable feature gets lost more and more. Our towns and cities are facing higher risks of flooding in the face of rising amounts of rainfall at a time, combined with longer dry periods in between due to climate change. The soil doesn’t work as a sponge anymore, especially when dried out – and largely sealed. It takes a lot of effort to make what we’ve got more sustainable, and to find smart solutions for new projects. I hope we’re smart enough to figure it out in time. The awareness seems to be growing, but… bureaucracy.

I dont think you have the right understanding about the housing situation in Europe and Scandinavia, in both Scandinavia and Europe the housing is VERY expensive , 50-70 % of a households incomes are spent One rent or loan and rent, for living. Thats extremly expensive, and it has created a homeless problem with beggers in every cornet and outside stores.

Thank you for this talk. I appreciate that the interviewer mentioned conditions facing people who move to other countries; as a Canadian, I know how abusively my country treats (im)migrants (e.g. temporary foreign workers program, immigration detention…). Also, countries neighbouring conflict take in the most refugees. On another note, I think it’s dangerous of the speaker to broadly endorse assimilation, which was a goal of the Canadian government when it established the genocidal system of residential schools.

I always wondered how comes that the hottest places on earth are also places with highest population density. Now he explained that poeple are gonna leave from there, but how did they end up there in the first place? I mean this is a trend much older than Air-conditioning. Intuitively I would think 1-2 degree warmer climate but having AC is a good trade off. What am I missing here?

Unqualified thought of mine, so please take it with a grain of salt: contraception is often not very commonly known, available, affordable and / or accepted in countries within said areas. Take Australia as a counter-example, which has large areas with great heat, but not the same birth rates. My first thought was basic survival-of-the-species instinct, where the instincts basically factor in that not all offspring will make it, so more kids mean that at least some of them will make it. But I think ‘missing’ contraception does a far larger part in this.

@Vanessa Raeder interesting thought. A lot of researchers and scientists have said the same. The only problem is that this can’t be the primary cause of high population, since these countries (generally speaking) had higher populations long before contraception was invented.

How can you maintain your ethnic homogeneity and thus culture and heritage (which is exclusive to the ethnic group of that geographic area) whilst pushing for billions of outsiders to move in? Xenophobia is natural tribalism, all of the third world is ‘xenophobic’. Look at israel and its rules for being one of their kin to live there. Why can everyone be this way except Europeans? They’ve already let far too many in and they’re going to see their countries become unrecognisable in 50 years.
