Watch it only be supported on the 17 Pro/pro max because those are the only models with 12 gigs of RAM. ….

That implies it would use an on-device LLM which is a lot better than requiring data centers. To me that’s a good thing. I don’t have any interest or desire in using any AI products so I’m fine keeping my older iPhone. I’m not alone here either.

Well I use googles Gemini so integrating it into Siri will finally make Siri more useful. Great video as usual Bridget, will be with you (in spirit) on Monday as I’m across the pond.

Bro there not going to announce glasses, that’s going to be later and we would have already heard rumors by now, plus the glasses would take away from the excitement around the new Siri

    We don’t want AI

The iPhone just as it is now is fine

Some of us have Actual Intelligence

And we don’t need some goofball draining the rivers to be writing our emails or generating images or emojis

I’m blind, and I love my Apple products because they’re powerful (and also Apple is extremely dedicated to ensuring that their products are “usable for the blind” at the core of the software), but I’m seriously considering getting a pair of smart glasses from Meta, Google, or a smaller company/charity called Agiga. I’d be very interested in purchasing a pair of smart glasses from Apple, especially since they would more easily integrate into the ecosystem I’m already comfortable with. If you do this right, you have a potential customer in me, Apple. And the rest of the blind community; we do have money, lol.

Isn’t it just a collection of the same, futile expectation that repeats every year? It’s probably best not to have high expectations.

I don’t mean to brag but I’m typing this comment on my iPhone 16 pro max. It was built from the ground up for Apple Intelligence and Siri 2.0 two years ago with iOS 18. And yet still waiting for Apple Intelligence and Siri 2.0….

I tried to use visual intelligence once and the experience was so bad I’ve never used it since. It’s a terrible experience and just a re-skinned Google reverse image search which has been around for at least a decade

I’m still holding out for the Apple Ring !!! I love my watch but I would love to use a regular analog watch and still have some smart capabilities from a ring.

iOS 27 and Apple Intelligence will only be supported on 17pro-Air series devices. iPhone 17 and 16 Pro model owners are about to get the shaft!

Hmm… I had t considered Tim going out with a bang, but he could do a memorable “one more thing…” and it’d be remembered. What’s his passion? Watch? Glasses? Health?

Honestly, I’m ready to hear about something from Apple that isn’t prefaced with “it won’t change much” or “it’ll look the same” etc. would it be too much to have a Siri FINALLY?!

  23. @WafflesIsTheStuff

    June 5, 2026 at 7:47 pm

I… I just don’t get it anymore. I wish Apple good luck finding people who do. Wish they’d wish me the same but hey, what can i say.

I can guarantee that I will not be interested in any gadget or gizmo that comes out or any new AI capability that hasn’t worked from day one, or any new feature that no one asked for.

Smart home stuff doesn’t work unless you have home internet. A lot of people don’t have home internet, so the tech is useless. Smart home tech needs to be able to work through your phone’s data connection.

Apple doesn’t make VR or AR tech for the masses, and they never will. It’s a niche product for the rich and shameless. Glasses that only have speakers and a camera are NOT SMART!

Wanna make your loyal customers happy, and attract new customers?

Focus on stability, security, functionality and battery life.

AirTag tracking needs to be instantaneous, not hours or days. Tags need to be linked through “verifiable” registered users to prevent illegal usage.

Go back to SIM cards and Ditch the “shiny” new cosmetic features that are used to hide the failures.

And for God’s sake, get rid of the useless dock and let us use the ENTIRE SCREEN.

If their first iteration of their smart glasses don’t have a display, I’m not interested 🥱. They work on something for years and years then we get just smart glasses with speakers and cameras. Any pictures/video taken by the glasses, you have to pull your phone out to see them. When you could of just done the same thing with your phone. Its just adding one more step. If theirs a Waveguide display then you can see and interact with apps/OS. They’ve had a few years with the Vision Pro to polish a interactive OS/Apps and could apply some of those aspects to their future smart glasses. They first need to fix Siri, its complete trash at the momment. It’s pretty far behind in voice assistant/AI compared to others. But hopefully with the help of the integration of Gemini will help….

The new Siri AI is not coming to all devices, and recent price increases make it more painful to upgrade to new devices all at once. CNET’s Bridget Carey has been testing out the new Siri AI in beta on her phone and says a new Apple TV box and new HomePods are a sure bet this fall — it just may be more expensive to upgrade than we all expected.
