Yes Jess! Your talk is so needed not only for palsy and other disorders that make nonverbal, but also ALS and other less known diseases that make a person nonverbal. It was so painful to see my mom being ignored when her disease made her non-verbal. I always advocated for her to be “heard”, but I couldn’t be with her every minute and I didn’t have a power of attorney.
