This is what music will become very likely. Instead of stories to be heard, sometimes with way too many words, songs will be stories to be felt. A fuller experience, feeling is 100% in touch with the source of information, language instead is like receiving the world though a screen with (always) less resolution than reality.

Reeps has been one of the best role models for me because he taught me that I should create what I like, and to not care about what people think of my music. Over the years he has been such an inspiration, moving from beatbox battles to giving full solo shows and constantly evolving his voice. He has pushed the boundaries of the human voice further than anyone else. Thank you for sharing your passion with us, Harry. I hope I can catch one of your shows one day.

The first couple notes Reeps sang had auto tune on them… which is a weird choice. I get the reverb and spacey/atmosphere supporting effects but I was just so immediately taken out of the moment by the auto tune.

If you watch his video with ‘Vochlea Music’ or his original TED talk it will explain it better than i can, but basically he uses a MIDI controller triggered by his voice, hes got it working pretty well, from what ive heard on his other vids, that i think hes started using it for shows too (but please dont quote me on that though lol )

LLMs may have kicked off this AI boom, but the ceiling is closer than the hype suggests. As models run out of text data to train on, the companies and investors paying attention are already moving on. The next wave isn’t better chatbots; it’s machines that can understand the physical world. Luma AI, the Bay Area lab that raised over $1.4 billion from a16z, Nvidia, and Amazon, is betting on exactly that.

On episode of TechCrunch’s Equity podcast, we’re bringing you a conversation Rebecca Bellan sat down with Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of Luma AI, at Web Summit Qatar. Together, the pair dug into where the next trillion-dollar AI opportunity actually gets built, and whether the companies chasing it even know what they’re building yet.
