If we had a better understanding of health and illness and focused more on non-vaccine, non pharma-patented methods of supporting immunity then the illnesses would be less deadly and less threatening. Bill is fixated on a narrow focused, mechanistic view of disease that is out of touch with the more holistic systems oriented approach to wellness. He is deeply invested in vaccines as a panacea for disease (financially and psychologically), when life has shown that people have just developed more chronic and deadly illnesses as vaccines have been mass distributed for treatable acute illnesses. You can’t end the threat of pandemics in the way Bill imagines. But he is good at giving a talk that fits the TED formula, which is sort of the elevator pitch version of sharing ideas with the public – not a forum for giving a deep or thorough explanation of any topic.

Most pandemics are zoonotic diseases stemming from animals. A talk on stopping pandemics without addressing their cause (factory farms, wet markets, deforestation, etc.) is like a talk on lung cancer without mentioning smoking.

As accurate as PCR tests? They were NOT accurate and we KNEW they were not accurate. The cycles were too high. There should never be a global team that overrides a nation’s sovereignty. Vaccines were not the miracle. You said yourself that they didn’t prevent infection or transmission and the data is showing that the risk may be far more than was anticipated to long term health. It is also showing that those vaccinated have a higher risk of getting future infections along with a host of other side effects including death. They will make people healthier? Could it be that the best investment you ever made (200/1) is something you would like to continue?

What we really need is to rebuild trust. Do not favor one single owner of a patent in case of pandemic. But make needed patents open source ASAP. We need as well to have an open and transparent global system for adverse events reporting and controlling of clinical trials. We need to protect and assure MDs that they can work as per ethics. Then the society will have more trust to outbreak prevention mechanisms.
After current failure the trust in global institutions is really limited. Really limited.

One thing that I hate is that Bill Gates stopped work after retiring from Microsoft. Maybe this is all they want from him? I would totally understand if Elon Musk influences the Government to only allow him to appear to be an innovator and no one else as he seems like the guy who would want credit for your innovation and have you threatened by the Government if you do not let him get credit for your innovation. ngl I hate that only Musk is promoted as societies lord and savior as before there were at least 20 innovators getting the spot light, now it’s only Elon.
