It’s interesting how residents of the US mainland think that war is not coming to their door. And I’m not just talking about the type of terroristic actions we’ve seen in the past. Trump has literally threatened every country and territory bordering the US, and not just threatened, but blockaded and attacked boats. There are no rules any more. Do not think that other countries will operate by the rules either. Americans have been very smug in their impunity, believing they are safe inside their big continental fortress. Not if you are provoking enemies east, west, north and south and not if geopolitical contention now extends to the Caribbean and Arctic. Things have changed.

It’s scary to think of how many people’s lives and livelihoods are at stake just because of a few men at the top. This was always true to major extents throughout history, including ww2. But it is really stark in this modern era how it’s just a handful of people with personality cults, weird preferences and idiosyncrasies who can make those decisions for their entire populations and everyone else indirectly. In contrast founding fathers like Washington were incredible in their attempts to be restrained and think of posterity.
Now we’ve got this shitshow of a wannabe dictator, who would never in a million years be brave enough to actually fight in one of his wars, singlehandedly demolishing any kind of established peaceful international order, and letting the dogs loose. With his fanbase applauding like this is all a movie. Guess what? Now Russia and China don’t even need justifications because we’ve established justifications don’t matter. Taiwan? If China starts something I guarantee one of their opening statements will be “Well our claim makes sense. The U.S is toppling governments and wants to annex territories like Greenland which don’t even share any kind of historical or cultural connection. So what’s wrong with taking something that actually does?”
I legit would hate to be in the military right now with the current Commander in Chief because you might just end up in WW3 for no good reason other than possibly someone’s excuse for an ego wanting to leave a scorch mark on the world before he leaves.

You mention the US, China and Russia as powers, yes. You then mention Turkey, also yes but way less powerful, a very strong regional player. Then you mention the tiny state of Israel, without US backing and the world turning a blind eye to their nuclear programs,they shouldn’t even be on the list! Israel would be a minor speck on most countries radars if it wasn’t for the focus and money poured into it by the West

Yeah…..like the UN would do anything about it. A weak entity who’s toothless and the US covers most of the countries membership fees….not to mention virtually all countries mentioned are on the Security council….you can’t even get most NATO countries that want to protect themselves which is stronger than the UN itself which is also getting weak.
