I would love to experience a flight on a wind suit. Flying like a bird… Sort of.

  46. Kirk Engnath

If you are going to the effort of making wingsuit with it’s own power beyond gravity I would think that would like to have an extended period of time to fly. You are already touching on some of the better point’s of powered flight why not go for an extend flight time. Think about state to state flying, how great would it be to decide to go to Las Vegas grab your wingsuit with powered flight and then go to a launch tower. You were in California and then you’re in Las Vegas. As long as you remember no drunk wingsuit flying.

Its a shame its lithium powered ….. that just means its an environmental and ethical disaster….. Lithium mining is so bad for the environment and the minerals for them are mined by child slaves in the congo. Worse is the fact they know how to make lithium batteries better and more effective but they dont want to do it because of the cost

The fatality rate for non-powered wing suits is high. I guess this will be something else to expand the number of people involved. You can fly like Superman, but when you hit something, you’re not Superman.

I’ve always though these guys should have a “reserve” if they screw up and are to low, they hit a button and a small solid fuel rocket ignites and they boosts them to safety. This idea goes even further.

That’s crazy.. The funny thing is years and years ago as a young teen in the late 90’s I studied bat maneuverability and how quickly they can correct flight and how little it takes for them to take off.. I went through so many types of wings because I had an idea of my own that I could actually make a “human,” powered wingsuit.. I still thinks it possible if a bird or bat can learn to fly than a human with the “correct wing span/ length,” and our “light weight ” materials we have today then I definitely could create something now, that I couldnt back when I was 13 or 14.. I can lift my own weight easily x3 with just my arms.. I’m getting back in the lab to replicate bat wings and slapping it onto my body..🤔
I’m going to be a real life “Gargoyle!” 😁
Has to be possibly for the right type of body of course.. Get active and stay healthy! Much Love!

I keep thinking about the military uses for this, I’m assuming fairly quiet, so you should be able to bring an entire special forces team very stealthy

Seems like this electric wingsuit was not able to soar any higher than the initial point of dropoff. It seems like more power is needed in the propulsion system.

  94. Ichirou Takashima

    January 31, 2022 at 12:52 am

Doubting the title. But that’s to be expected of CNET. Jetpacks are the closest thing you can do and much better for human flight. You don’t need to jump off a freaking helicopter if you have a jetpack.

  95. Ryan Wilson

    January 31, 2022 at 12:54 am

@4:03 It is said that Peter tops out at 186mph and that its 3 times faster than most other wing suit divers… So other wingsuit divers are only reaching speeds of 62mph?? That doesn’t seem right so I ask maybe someone who does? Thanks guys

  96. DR. DR

I think he needs to team up with the jet pack people to create 1 complete product. Takes off, hovers and fly’s like a wing suit. And chop chop it’s 2022 I been needing this
