Feeling like progress is impossible? You’re not alone — here’s how to keep pushing forward #TEDTalks
Malala Yousafzai has spent her life advocating for girls’ education — surviving an assassination attempt at 15, meeting with world leaders and then watching hard-won progress collapse when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in 2021. That moment of despair forced her to completely rethink what it means to create change, and what she discovered replaced…

Let’s launch our garbage into the sun!
Ummm, no. Earth is messy. So can’t we just send our junk somewhere else? Aside from the moral quandaries raised by such poor stewardship of our already disheveled solar system, Earthlings probably haven’t made a habit of beaming literal garbage into space yet because we simply can’t afford to. Only good one is the urine monitor. Giving people more ways to track their health and take care of themselves is awesome. The other one with potential is an oven having the ability to monitor your food and help you avoid burning your food — but I’m not convinced it’s quite there yet.

Is no one going to talk about the 39$/month subscription for a cutting board? We’re all glossing over that?

I’m not some boomer that hates new tech, but there wasn’t a single piece of actually cool thing here. I guess the urine analysis is useful, but everything else was completely unnecessary and frankly either insanely ugly or insanely annoying. People hated endless social media posts about food 15 years ago, now we want to automate that process? Why?

If these were the top tech at CES, I cannot even begin to imagine the worst tech at CES. Didn’t find any of these products nearly desirable.

The fridge is neat, everything else is pretty dumb. It’s obviously all for rich people, like maybe a business could get use out of the shoe thing, like a bowling alley or something.
The cutting board seems pointless. If you were the kind of person who would buy that, wouldn’t an echo show and a normal cutting board actually work better?
The oven posting on social media is stupid. Like I think there is at least 1 thing that would be good about an oven with wifi features, and that’s being able to tell you if you left the thing on and being able to shut it off remotely. Like why am looking at the oven on my phone? I should be standing right next to the damn thing if I’m cooking.

What this tells me is that there is a class that, not only have the means to spend, but simply needs an excuse to spend. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I am not part of this demographic…

Tech on trade shows is like concept cars. Of course some are as useful as a broken brick, but they are a way to show innovation and new technologies.
