Congress made up its mind before it started. The only reason it was on tv was to piss off China.

Some of the things the CEO said were really dumb, like claiming that they have a “firewall to protect users’ data from the Chinese government”. What a retarded thing to say. If China wants TikTok’s data, they’ll come in and take it. Of course the legislature is equally stupid thinking that any of their questions were actually meaningful. All in all a really show of stupidity all around.

I am very happy to see that people here are all clear what’s the true reason that US government wants to ban TikTok. Everyone knows the reason while only the politicians pretend they care about the kids.

They were so rude to him. They could’ve at least showed kindness and respect. He maintained a respectful attitude even though he was in the hot seat. Congress leaders should be ashamed of themselves on how they handled everything. I understand why they may want to block TikTok but they didn’t have to be so rude about. I’m pretty sure I know why..

Because TikTok is in a communist country where all businesses have to hand over their records to the government?

The congress definitely does not represent everyone. The politicians in America only interested in making themselves rich. The most hypocritical government on earth and they are sick in their head . It was obvious racist for all the people to see. They did not show any respect to the very young CEO of Tik Tok. GO TIK TOK!!! And there were many Americans demonstrators against these despicable law makers but of cause they don’t show that on national TV.

TikTok does nothing to you but keep me at home making idiot we need to get rid of it and have all those influence get real jobs. There are other ways to make our lives entertaining and to laugh.

I get that TikTok needs to be more secure, however. Congress doesn’t want to talk about guns, the rail disaster, the numerous child predators *cough* priests, or the book banning? Lets go after a social media app and make it a huge deal.

What was the point of a congressional hearing. Every American should already be well aware that the Peoples Liberation Army has its tentacles in every aspect of civilian and military business going in and out of China. Hell yes it’s a Trojan Horse spy operation and it’s collecting data on every continent of the world to further their dream of total world domination.

I think free market capitalism was a lie, all along. Some businesses get treated better than others. usually receiving our tax dollars thru bailouts. politicians are just the money managers for the business class, to funnel our money to them.

This guy is making the biggest sales call of his career so far he’ll end up in a labor camp or just completely disappear if he doesn’t snag this account then in all reality congress is probably 25 years late trying to get this sort of personal information espionage by other countries under control think about it the Chinese have police stations in the US so as to monitor their citizens living here – look it up

As a Taiwanese, I can confirm TikTok has some censorship that bans all the pro Taiwan contents. They have been trying to brainwash Taiwanese viewers as I often see contents that boast Chinese glory on TikTok. These Chinese propaganda on TikTok are really alarming because CCP has been trying to takeover my country for a long time.

Remember that TikTok is privately owned in name only.
Being in a communist country, they have to do whatever the government tells them to do,including handing over information that they’ve gathered in order to “give you a better experience”.

This was an embarrassment on our government’s part. We need to focus on government reform. The people seated today no longer represent the interests of the American people.

Design consultant Virginia Santy set out to create an office space built specifically for women, flipping the script on the subtle (and not-so-subtle) ways that workplaces and cities still fail them. The results were striking: greater productivity, deeper collaboration and an environment where women felt genuinely valued, leading her to ask a simple question: What would the world look like if we designed with women in mind?
