Why do we often wait so long to recognize each other’s gifts? Why are the truest compliments for the people we love often said only after they’re no longer around to hear and savor them? Andrea Driessen makes the case for writing eulogies for the living, sharing the power of “Gracenotes” to offer connection on a deeper level and dispel any regrets of waiting until a loved one’s death to appreciate their presence in your life.

Born and Died in the same house. I think it is likely he returned to Father as his care for his family is of the Devine nature. Love and Care of your children is what fathers should do. This Eulogy is heard by your Father. He hears your words. There should be no grief your father is in the place where he was Born again.

This TED Talk was the most inspiring I’ve personally heard that resonates and provides me a perspective of the phrase “giving flowers while ppl are alive”
On a new mission now. Hopefully folks will understand and appreciate the sentiment.
Def gonna share this for reference.
    GREAT inspiring TED Talk!!!!!

This talk reminds me of that quote which says “Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.”
Let’s all get better at giving more flowers to the living ones while they are here 💗

When I was a young adult I was a hospice nurse. Way back then hospice was in the hospital. Anyhow I saw so frequently family’s not visit and not send flowers or cards. Then after the death the room would be packed with with tearful people and bouquets of flowers. One time a patient passed after about 6 months with us. During that time she had only a few visits but after she was gone flowers and people packed her room. When her body was being taken away and the family was leaving one of them asked me what they should do with the flower. I volunteered to get a cart and help take them to the car. They didn’t want the flowers, so I explained that in such cases we would distribute the flowers among the other patients. I added that their relative had recieved such flowers and really enjoyed them. One family member who was carrying out a bouquet hand it to me and said to give it to a patient. But what I remember most about that patient was having come into her room to hang her tubefeeding. She said she was glad to see me and didn’t want me to worry about her. I replied that she had come so far, and that she might yet have time. I had been a hospice nurse long enough to know she was admitting what her body was telling her. So I hugged her and said Good bye, I won’t worry. Then I left her room. About an hour later her nurse come up to the desk to tell us she was actively dying. I was the last person she spoke with.

I did! I sent my dad his eulogy as a Father’s Day gift, 2020. He’s still alive and well, and he said that after reading the eulogy, he accomplished what he set out to do.

Very powerful & moving concept!!! I was crying during entire video. I try to let people that I care about what their great qualities are & how much I love them regularly, but this video has motivated me even more!!!!! It truly doesn’t make sense to eulogize a person only at death, celebrate their life while they are present!!!!!

Yeah, the times we are in a World seeping in cahos where thieves and cut throats head countries,
Eight year old girls are murdered in their back yards jumping on a trampoline,
Three year olds are shot in their car seats because their mom flipped a guy off on the highway.
Whole cities suffer because their governments let their infrastructure degrade to the point of murder.
What a marvelous gift this place was, how cavaliere we toss it away.
You want me to find the pearl here? Okay how about this the universe is so mind boggling huge that somewhere.
I do not know where (wished I did) there is a world that appreciates the gifts foisted upon them and realize just how much they need one another. Peace out.

I wonder how many people can identify with Ms. Driessen and her time in Phys. Ed. as being a humiliating experience. I sure can. Why is this? Does it have to be this way? I think one solution would be to have more of a variety of activities such as swimming, diving, frisbee, ultimate frisbee, gymnastics, stretching, yoga, pilates, etc., so the element of competition need not be part of the picture and children need not be insulted or shamed by their teachers.
