Pebble might have been launched before the Apple Watch, but the iPod Nano 6th gen was released 2 years earlier than that… Anyone who knows that thing, knows that it was basically like a standalone smartwatch.

nope. no contactless payment and no music control in 2025 sounds like a huge failure. one of them don’t even have heart rate sensor! and I am 1000% sure the price will be more than 100 dollars for the cheaper one. that will be just super unpractical when CMF watch or other Chinese watches will give all of those in just 50 dollars.

Pebble is incredible even after 10 years !!!

Would the old Pebble watches run on the coming official Pebble app?

    • @didiervandendaele4036

      March 24, 2025 at 7:04 pm

      YES 😊

I wish there was a swim proof one

dang, i remember that old cnet video! i went with fitbit because i couldnt track down a pebble at the time. on my 3rd one now and would like to get something different since google is happily driving fitbit into the google graveyard….

    For $150, go for Amazifit

  7. @BobKeefe

    March 24, 2025 at 12:59 pm

We loved our Pebble watch, especially the week-long battery life, and are happy to see it coming back.

    March 24, 2025 at 1:01 pm

Unfortunately, now that we’re in our 70’s, health monitoring (heart rate & fall detection) will probably push us towards an Apple Watch ☹️

what worries me is that if you search e-ink smart wristband on taobao, you would find something look exactly like the Core 2 Duo. The new pebble watches hardware might be based on some existing cheap wristband.

I used one for turn by turn navigation on my motorcycle. Useful for that but the internals were not built well, screens kept dying. Google Pebble tissue paper mod for some details on this issue that affected pretty much every gen 1 Pebble owner.

hopefully they’ve upgraded their case materials on the new models. I charged up my previous model after 5 years in storage- and when i went to use the buttons, they fell apart!!! (from resin rot?)

  12. @ninjanerdstudent6937

    March 24, 2025 at 2:09 pm

I never got my chance with the original 10 years ago, so I’m definitely buying this smart watch.

  13. @oriwan3786

    March 24, 2025 at 2:15 pm

    Prices are ridiculous.

  14. @kratosrage

    March 24, 2025 at 2:47 pm

after seeing the price and features,I think this is gonna fail and Chinese brands will release better pebble alternative with fraction of price.

  15. @JackTheBlack1585

    March 24, 2025 at 3:20 pm

Kind of disappointed with the design/look, but other than that, I love it. I’m probably going to buy one too.

  16. @linnsoltwedel

    March 24, 2025 at 3:21 pm

LOL. I had this as my first “smart” watch! 😀

  17. @sidekick96734

    March 24, 2025 at 4:10 pm

I owned two Pebble watches and they’re still the best smart watches I ever owned. They got a lot of things right. Keep it simple, epaper display, long battery life, the music control screen DIDN’T TIME OUT and finally the buttons were perfect for motorcycle riders because you didn’t have to look down to control your music app while riding. I’m so excited to hear Pebble is back.

  18. @Jasonkenny-

    March 24, 2025 at 4:20 pm

Pebble is the worst company that has ever existed…sold a product that wasn’t ready with a huge design flaw that saw screen after screen fail. Only a FOOL would buy anything off Eric.

  19. @TheOborune

    March 24, 2025 at 5:01 pm

I loved my pebbles, so hyped to see it coming back!!!

  20. @bweber9468

    March 24, 2025 at 5:19 pm

I didn’t realize it doesn’t take calls it’s strange that it has a microphone and speaker but doesn’t take calls. I wonder if it will have an app that allows it to be done whenever somebody hacks The Watch

  21. @amazighyacine

    March 24, 2025 at 5:55 pm

Those prices are very high for this old technology

  22. @ivancis6614

    March 24, 2025 at 7:24 pm

    Yes

  23. @rosariodagosto6484

    March 24, 2025 at 7:30 pm

No wonder it went bust ugly
