Multipurpose tools bot or no bot is a must. The unlimited possibilities and thanks to electricity which also is a universal tool. We are just at the beginning fo a fully E future. Nikola Tesla would be proud when no one understood his mind and the future of all electric.

We upgraded to a vac with LiDAR ; game changer! As far as what I’d like in the future, here you go.
    1. A companion, purpose-built piece of furniture to hide the bot.
    2. Side roller/brush to clean floor trim (some bulkier styles are dust magnets).
    3. Air freshener dispenser.
    4. Ability to climb stairs.
    5. A model for outdoors for around the pool and patio with big tires, a huge waste bin and a giant battery. PS: It could double as as bot-security too, or at least scare off the possums and raccoons. 🤪

I urge company focus on North American market with a simple one fit all solution: carpet cleaning.

Well, what is my main concern when seing vacuum mop combos, well, even now manufacturers are struggling to get better perfomance out of their bots, with the space available. Blocking a good amount of said space, just to mop, wouldnt, it be better to have a seperate bot?
Also for example, my carpets are, how can i say, long haired i guess. Meaning lifting the mop 5mm wont be enough, sadly…

  37. Rhackus

    January 10, 2022 at 6:31 am

I think one commonly overlooked functionality is the drying the mop, as between washes, leaving it on the machine may cause bacterial growth and unwanted odour. I believe the Ecovacs has a heating element that dries the mop, wondering if the roborock does as well.

Being a Chinese brand product with so many functions, Id like to see how it holds up over a couple years of use before investing hard-earned cash. The tech is getting much better but the quality wavers still sometimes.

its been on the chinese market for many years and doing better than ever.. its a solid brand. I have the orignal one(at the time they still called”Mi Vaccum robo”) still works perfectly fine.

@din X awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Would really like a robovac that does all the things this claims to do and last for years, as I’m sure it’ll retail well over $1000. If so, it’ll be well worth the money.

  51. CrazyQuadBrothersP3

    January 11, 2022 at 5:33 pm

Hey was just going to say there is another company Trifo that has facial recognition to let you know if there’s an intruder in your house, or someone outside of your window that it doesn’t recognize. Also you can do a screen recorder while you’re doing hey interactions with someone in the house if you wanted to record things. And all things said this is an amazing product, and who knows what they will come up with for the future I am super excited for one!

  58. Tanya's Obsessions

    January 12, 2022 at 2:46 pm

you still have to do regular maintenance of the vacuum its self aka the hair that gets wrapped up in the wheels etc. not worth it in my opinion. until they tackle that, i’m not going to be sold on this trend of “self cleaning” robot vacs. the most important things which are the hair/fur wrapping around the moving parts is always over looked and not talked about and so people don’t think they have to do it but then complain that it didn’t last long as they expected it to. if you want it to last long, you have to do regular maintenance.

  61. dano gg

    January 13, 2022 at 4:42 am

There seems to be a big flaw in the concept of these self emptying bins. I own a roborock s6, love it, but it requires frequent maintenance.
    – main brush needs hair/junk cut out and removed.
    – little sweeper needs to be removed, junk taken out.
    – filter needs to be removed, thoroughly cleaned.
    – front wheel removed, cleaned
    – sensors wiped

The easiest of all the maintenance is emptying the bin. Will the device that empties the bin need its own maintenance? The only way i could see this being useful is if you have an absolutely enormous single storey house. One that’s too big to be done in a single bin load or mop refill.

    • JustHuman

Properly could that with a little modding, but not sure most houses has that option.

“ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL” Still not sure I want a roaming camera in my house though. But so long there is a diode that shows it is on I guess it’s okay, and for pet owners and security it’s not that bad. I can see this very use full in a summer home too.
