104K base price is still cheaper than what Acura was selling the current gen NSX for. 🤣 What Chevy has done with the C8 is what Acura should have done with the NSX.

I don’t think Chevy made the right move. The gas side of their equation far out powers the electric side. The battery pack is less than 1 kw. They literally added enough electric power to name it the E-ray.

That and made it in a stick for all models but alas

don’t forget it actually sounds better than the NSX because of V8. Yes I know some v6s sound nice but the current NSX sound to me is meehh

Just buy the Australian made.. HSV GTS.. rw1 . 640 hp. In a four door saloon.. and it does corners.. just a Lotus clone America..

What Acura should have done with the NSX. Base NSX no hybrid system for less than 80k. Type S with hybrid and mild horsepower increase for a little over 100k. Type R with hybrid system and more horsepower and aero and lighter weight for 100k plus.

Only problem is buying one for that price as the dealers will be in gouge mode. With the Tesla price drop the Model S Plaid is a better value.

    • Graeme Johnson

      January 22, 2023 at 2:51 pm

@G G just make sure you have a backup car.. my mates wife’s Tesla s plaid is back with Tesla for it’s third time, and it’s only 6 months old.. it’s crap 💩.. build quality of a 3yr olds LEGO Model… it’s pooping because it’s too cold to charge..
They have got their Australian made, Pontiac GTO Monaro out of storage..
Before you reply, look up YouTube channel, Sleeperdude, search GTO.. Australian made Monaro…. And he loves it..

I’m fine with this (hybridisation), but i hope they don’t make a fully electric Corvette, because that would tarnish the name like Mach-E tarnished the Mustang name.

I’m not fine with Corvette having all wheel drive. Corvette is, and should be only RWD.

Make a new model if you want AWD and/or EV, stop ruining existing car models!

Mach E didn’t tarnish Mustang cause its Electric so much as cause its a frigging SUV! I’d be way more disappointed in a Corvette SUV with a V8 than an Electric Corvette

      January 21, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Yeah, The horrific electric Mustang, which tried to be a family sedan, was just a complete neuterization of the brand. It just killed the appeal that drew us to them in the first place

      Why?

    • G G

      January 22, 2023 at 2:37 pm

More demand for the Mach E than the ICE Mustang. Ford can’t make enough Mach E’s.

    • Finnished

      January 22, 2023 at 2:57 pm

      @G G
Sure, but it’s not a Mustang.

Chevrolet should have done the Ecotec turbo 4 in the back to around 300 horsepower and then the Chevy Bolt EV drive up front with a plug in capable 33kw battery pack. It should have a usable electric range, it should be able to beat 97 percent of anything on the road and it should pull 400-450 miles of range on 10 gallons of fuel

    Best Corvette so far

0:58 I must say it surprised me that they had no generator on the motor, especially with such a small battery pack.

      January 21, 2023 at 4:25 pm

4:12 okay, that makes sense. It’s a bit of an overkill solution, but in the words of Alice “anything worth doing is worth overdoing”

GM. Got pinged for cloning the Lotus, it’s in court.. so now we have a cloned Lotus electric car.
It’s a con.. the only thing America has invented, is the only country in the world with. Mass Shootings.. go away..

The E-Vette looks nice. Reminds me of the Ferrari. I want to see both the Ferrari and E-Vette race against each other. That’ll be cool.

Great review. You literally gave all the details that most others missed or dont care about. Now i dont have to waste time looking at other videos to find the specific info on this car that i need to know. Legendary. 🙌.
PS: that price though. Now that I know the price im going to pass on the E-Ray and now will have to the Grand Sport. Please make a video when the info on that comes out. ✌️

While I think it’s great people buying these are not driving them in the snow, they have a number of other cars if they can afford a 6 figure care. They should have kept the last gen around as a cheaper alternative.

    January 22, 2023 at 9:01 pm

Okay so they went with the primary engine being the combustion engine and not an electric motor, why ? This design is a crappy design for a car that calls itself a supercar in this day and age, this has to be a joke.
