Ooof. Correction. Mac Pro is the last product Apple sells with Intel. (I originally said Mac Studio.) I was going off a story we posted that had it wrong. (And yet no one made a joke about how I’m giving bad _intel_ come on people it was right there.)

Sweetie & I had to do triple takes when we saw that moment and rewound 3 times to Mac sure we didn’t just drop some Apple Acid… But, you greatly made up for the major mistake with the “BAD INTEL” joke above. – Eric ZORK Alan & Sweetie [ Professional Poets & Bed Vloggers ] [So THIS was funny…. SUPER SADLY it’s NOT funny that in Dec 2019 I spent $12k on a Cheesegrater INTEL MacPro that is now GREATLY outperformed by a $1,999 MacBook. insert super sad emoji here 😭

Updated Note: We cut out an error that was in the original version of this video. I should have said the Mac Pro is the last product Apple is selling with Intel, but wrongly I said Mac Studio. You won’t hear that mistake now. We removed that part for clarity since it was a minor line in the script. Thanks to everyone who flagged it.

The base model of all M2 Macs only has a 256 Gb none upgradable SSD. Not only is this too little but more importantly selecting this configuration will result in a slow system. This is because in all 256 Gb M2 Macs there is only one and not two Flash memory modules soldered onto its motherboard. This halves the rate of data transfer to the SSD by comparison with any entry level M1 Mac. I would like to beg all purchasers of any M2 Mac to pay an extra $200 for a 512 Gb SSD to create a balanced fast system.

Why would you want to stereo pair with two different speakers and experience phasing issues …non pairing between old and new shouldn’t be a gripe

    • Ryan Doyle

      January 21, 2023 at 12:46 am

Really shouldn’t be an issue with a good Interet connection. I had an Echo Studio pair that was fine.

Nothing new but speed, frankly as always i’m quite disappointed with Apple the same product refined for next year at a high price.
I’m not sure you’ve heard their Cameragate? The camera components used are optimised tweaking the image via A.i., basically the camera is neither new wide or improved. But hey ho it’s Apple.

I hope Apple realises their cheap and pretentious, mostly because they refuse to hire actors, launches are so uncomfortable and boring, nobody cares. Plus the last “wow” announcement was literally Siri

Apple is acting very brazenly by raising the prices of the new Pro and Max. Now the maximum configuration costs about $4,000! I thought that after the release of the M2, the old models of the M1 would become cheaper, no, instead, Apple increased the prices of the M2! And what, when they release the M3, will they cost 10,000? Don’t you think this is a clear manipulation? And what is the strangest thing, despite such huge prices, people still run to buy M2! Wake up people, don’t give away so much money, it’s just a computer, it shouldn’t cost the price of a used car!

The Echo Studio is half the price has Alexa & if you gave Prime Amazon Music is 50£/$/€ cheaper than all the competition.

Echo dots have been groupable for years to make a home surround sound system. Why does it take apple years of planning to do something other devices have been already doing for so long?

I think the thing that doesn’t sit well with me, is the omission of the max on the Mac Mini. You can shove one into a 14″ MBP with 96 gigs of ram, but can’t put it in a desktop with an oversized cooling system? This is strictly a business decision, to make sure they do not cannibalize Studio sales. It’s a cash grab, and I don’t like it.

That’s Apple for you! And they know that people will dump the old ones, which are 9nly 2 years old, for the new pods. Just change your entire ecosystem to Google. All mayor brands support it and you can pair them, no matter the brand, for a better stereo experience

(1). We have been asking apple for the same things since day one. They do not care to listen.
(2). Why are they using a duel core, and not an “M1” in the speaker. They make a Mac mini with an M1.
(3). Apple has always given people horrible trade in value on their apple products. It is nothing new. Apple will just turn around and resell your trade in for almost brand the new price. Apple even bricked the iPhone 6 with a software update. Whether it is new or not. That was purposely done. At least with an android I can retrieve everything from an old phone. There is no software viruses the manufacturer is sending to people phones.

I’m still waiting for my refund from Apple of £49.99 from 2012: my daughter was playing some ‘free’ Penguin game on my (now long defunct) iPod Touch, long before Apple made it hard for kids to make in-app purchases on their parents devices. It’s not like I had any right to let her see me angry even – she bought £49.99 of fish for her Penguin and couldn’t understand what she had done wrong – a Penguin’s gotta eat don’t he? But angry I was. That’s when I realised that there was an app for everything … except getting your money back! Fool me once – not twice. So I’m not surprised at the poor trade in value offered at all. But in Apple’s defence, the Mac Pro is not a budget device. And it is sold with the clear intention of making huge profit per sale, and massaging the ego, not the bank balance, of it die hard purchasers. You are getting money off something that makes your old device redundant – you should count yourself lucky you are even being offered that.
