It seems to me this is a glorified pair of roller skates, and honestly you could modify a pair of roller skates so that the wheels had a racheting action so you could only move forward and probably do more than these things.

Also, instead of being strap on, they should clip in to the bottom of special shoes with recessed cleats, like spd shoes for cycling.

I interviewed with this company for an internship! They gave me an assignment after I interviewed with them (I would say it was about medium difficulty). I asked them what the point of the assignment was, and they basically admitted that it was a feature that would be useful to them later. I completed the assignment, demoed it to them fully working, and then they rejected me.

Interesting tech, but why use this over a penny board or kick scooter?
Those are faster, much cheaper, more reliable, more efficient.
They also don’t depend on fancy tech that can fail, and Lithium batteries that degrade over time
The heavy weight of the shoes also means stepping with them is very inefficient, where as wheeled methods stick to the ground, so you’re not constantly lifting them up and exerting energy
The electronics also means it has less user control and nimbleness as opposed to a penny board

Your jog was .12 miles and less than 1 minute. Your hr almost reached 150bpm. I highly highly HIGHLY suggest you see a doctor and get checked for problems with your cardiovascular and/or respiratory system. That is a very high heart rate for very minimal exertion. I suggest you follow up with your pcp – Nursing student.

I’m not seeing how this in any way better than roller blades?? Roller blades are an order of magnitude cheaper, require no batteries, aren’t as complex, and would probably share the same problems on stairs, etc as the Moonwalkers. I’d love to see the developers or anyone here to convince me otherwise, but this seems like a gizmo for the sake of having a gizmo.

I feel like that guys speed walk was just barely slower than his run. If the difference between walking and running is having a foot on the ground at all times then I think this guy was running. He was definitely catching a lil air in his stride.
