No, it is not even close to the complexity level of fully autonomous. Teleoperation isn’t challenging to achieve. The reason you feel it to be impressive is simply because you are not a researcher in this field

    • @Flashfrozenflounder4858

      October 26, 2024 at 2:27 pm

@takedown243 Tesla’s Optimus has an autonomous mode which has been demonstrated and is becoming more capable by the day. It’s not impressive to remotely operate a robot as we’ve been doing that for decades, but yes, it is impressive to do so when it’s a highly dexterous walking humanoid, which has taken many years of breakthroughs in manufacturing and robotics technology to achieve. Tesla has the most advanced operational real world AI on the planet with FSD v12, which fixed almost all of the issues by getting rid of most of the human written code and building an AI from the ground up. Their humanoid AI will quickly catch up and has already demonstrated cutting edge capabilities.

Exactly like full self driving… The hardware is looking ready, more hardware is being brought to bear on creating the AI (Grok-3 level?) capable to automating these robots.
