Recommending only Apple replace your battery and buying only Apple accessories is a disservice to the many as good as or better than batteries and accessories being sold by third parties.

My phone is on its last leg and need to upgrade within the next year (iPhone Ms Max,2018) 🤕

On the iPhone Upgrade Plan, so I was two years into my plan, so it was time to upgrade and had nothing to do with tariffs. Just glad it was easy and I’m paying the same fee for another couple of years.

The only people ‘panic buying’ new iPhones are the ones reviewing them. Then, they take them back for a refund

It’s not only the prices – it’s the functionality. I neither need nor want AI, I don’t need motion picture quality video recordings, etc.
And yes – refurbished; I’ve never had an issue with refurbished Apple anything 👍🏻

I still use my 13 mini had the battery replacement done last month by apple so I’m good.

I have an iPhone Pro Max 13, and I don’t plan on buying a new phone until the iPhone 18 is released at the earliest

My iphone 15pro is paid off and I’ll be keeping it until the wheels fall off. AT&T keeps sending me messages about upgrading.

I bought mine iPhone 16 Pro two weeks ago with no clue about tariffs. It was still close to $1200 cash. Lucky 😂. Apple already said they could absorb some of the cost. Will they idk.

This was one of the reasons behind the tariffs. To also have people wake up and realize their consuming habits, and change their behavior.

Good practical suggestions. I bought a 14 pro max 2 and a half years ago. It’s working fine and I see no reason why I can’t keep it for another few years. We just have to resist being seduced by Apple’s latest and greatest incremental changes if what you have suits your needs. That’ll be easy to do with a $2K iPhone, at least for me.

    April 11, 2025 at 7:21 pm

It would be nice if Apple extended support of older phones. My son and I both have 13 Minis, and they work fine, but we don’t know when iOS updates will end.

Apple can simply dedicate some resources and give 2 or 3 more years of security updates.

I’m happy I bought the cheapest iPhone I could find: the SE, years ago. I was going to buy the new 16E, but after looking at what I would get for a more money, I axed that idea ~ I went to my local electronic store and did a comparison of both phones and discovered my SE gives me everything I need in an iPhone ~ Well, OK, the 16E had a better camera but I have a draw full of old cameras all they need is a new rechargeable battery ~ So at this point all I need to do is NOT installed all those useless software updates that I can’t use anyway filling up my harddrive ~ Once again thanks Bridget for your help in understanding what is actually going on here ~

Apple are always boasting about their designed in America claims, about time they started making them there!

I’ve no plans to upgrade anything this year, and maybe not even next year. Upgraded them all after last September, as my MacBook Pro was celebrating its 10th anniversary. And thanks for the tip on preserving the battery of older devices, I’ve one to keep an eye on from time to time. Thank you Bridget 🌷
