Spotify is quietly moving its lyrics feature behind a paywall to get free subscribers to move to a paid tier. Will people be motivated to pay a monthly fee to get access to lyrics which they can search online for free? Time will tell. What this does tell us is Spotify is trying to entice users to pay for the products that differentiate them from Apple Music. With largely the same music catalog, Spotify coaxes users to their platform through features like exclusive podcasts, audiobooks, the Spotify Wrapped, and now access to lyrics.

What does Parkinson’s smell like? Ask nurse Joy Milne. Born with a hypersensitive nose, she spent a lifetime learning to recognize diseases through their scents.
