After hours of testing this new model against the original PS5 (2020) and the PS5 Slim (2023) in various games, our Sean Booker says yes— particularly for first-time PS5 owners and gamers who want the best experience.

When’s Sony’s check going to arrive for being a sellout and rage baiting that title?

It’s too expensive for me. I could do something else with $700. PS five is still good. I’m not a fool.

Maybe its cause I play 99% of games on my pc that cost way more than the ps5 pro
And only use my ps5 for exclusives
But honestly I don’t care for the difference between the 5 and 5 pro

Disliked and fake news. How on earth can you say this is not overpriced? The consumer is getting shafted because there’s no competition to Sony. $700 or £700 for a little detail to the horizon … Is absolutely nuts. Buy it with your own money before making a misinformed shill video like this.

So how much is RTX 4070 alone nowadays?

    • @zero11010

      November 6, 2024 at 11:22 am

Don’t be crazy. Go look at the price of the top … 10 video cards. How do those compare?

Most people would be looking to upgrade, yeah? So they already have a PS5. Does your old PS5 vanish? No? Is it worth anything? What, it’s worth HUNDREDS of dollars? So, selling the old one is basically HUNDREDS of dollars off the new one.

More storage, better performance … the whole console still costs about the same as mid-grade video cards (after you sell your PS5).

      November 6, 2024 at 11:41 am

You get more frame rates. Not sure why you people always repeat “for some little detail”… but sure, be parrot. Feel free. And if it would be overpriced, MS could easily release a cheaper version and make a lot of profits. Pls explain why MS isn’t doing that. Might it be…that they are not able to compete with this machine/pricing in any reasonable way? Sony does not have a monopoly. Even if you try to make that up because otherwise what you say sounds like the most stupid stuff ever.

There are enough videos out to make up your own mind. Calling this “misinformation” feels more like you’re just jealous and ignorant, and want to force your opinion on others. It’s okay if you think it’s not worth it. But the only misinformation is dumb stuff like: “compare these two pictures”. Yeah, compare them and cry some more, while we others are enjoying our new console which offers us the same fidelity with twice the frames in a lot of games…

And you know what? in PC segment people pay 3k on a graphic card. An no one screams and cries like a little baby… about “shills”.

@@ledpowz Then go ahead and steal daddy’s credit card and buy a £700 console for a few more frame rates. You’re exactly the spoiled, low testosterone, beta male demographic that Sony is targeting. Ready to open their wallets and legs whenever the corporations demand it. Pathetic.

  7. @Deathscythe91

    November 6, 2024 at 8:10 am

its using the same zen 2 cpu from 2017 as the normal ps5 and the gpu got some extra cores ….yay

and example if you play spiderman on fidelity pro mode , you are still playing at 30fps , things only get sharper , so basically you are paying 200$ more for things to just get a little sharper YAAAAY

    this thing is a scam

  8. @TheAmazingSpiderGuy_99

    November 6, 2024 at 8:35 am

Not overpriced? It’d be overpriced even if it came with a disc drive and stand.

    • @ledpowz

      November 6, 2024 at 11:46 am

How do you know? Did you see the development costs or have special insights? What Sony invested into R&D to give AMD the capabilities NVIDIA has? Please tell me more about your insights and how you came to the conclusion. Im genuinely interested.

    • @ledpowz

@@TheAmazingSpiderGuy_99 Do you gain anything by being offended by a product and trying to make it look bad? Do you gain anything by denying others being happy with what is offered?

Haven’t seen so many grown up people crying about something for a long time…

I mean I just cared about your technical expertise and how you know it’s “overpriced”. As said… if it would be, MS would be keen to use the opportunity making a competitor and steal some marketshare… but they don’t. So, perhaps the reason its “overpriced” is you being butthurt instead?

So perhaps the company may be greedy, but that has nothing to do with you talking nonsense because you feel “offended” by a product…

The next decade of games comfortably? That’s not going to age well.

Console generations tend to last 6-10 years.

The PS5 has been out for 4 years already.

When the PS6 comes out that WILL be a big step up. And, this will still struggle to play those games.

The PS5 pro seems worth the money for people who need the best of the best. The side by side shows there’s really very little improvement. It’s visible. It exists. But, you really need to side by side it to know.

It’s not like some of the games are so advanced that they won’t run on the regular PS5 or that they actually look noticeably worse or run noticeably worse.

You’re welcome to look at the jump between any two consecutive console generations. Was the PS1 playing PS2 games? Not remotely. PS2 playing PS3 games? Not well. PS3 playing PS4 games?

As a mid generation refresh I think the best you’ll see is it’ll be like the weaker current generation cheap Xbox. Developers hate making games work on it because it’s so much less capable than the real current generation hardware. And let’s be honest … if you had a PS5 and then get the pro … in a few years when PS6 drops you’ll get that, too.

Just 300 more and you can get a pc that isn’t planned to go obsolete in 3 years. You can have a PS7 before Sony makes one. All these components aren’t hidden away, they’re things you can buy too

Don’t spend your money on an overpriced console. Get the base model and wait for the next gen, which probably it is coming out in 2 years.
