Converse feel comfortable in my opinion. I feel like it depends on the kind of shoes you’re used to wearing, especially since a lot of newer shoes have a lot of padding. If you’re hiking or something though, definitely not.

He got the definition of hypebeast and also the reason why the NBA fined Jordan both wrong lol.

Hypebeast – someone who just goes after the expensive, “hyped” shoes, and doesn’t really care about the culture or history

NBA fine on Jordan – not because the shoe was “ugly”. He was fined (and Nike picked up the tab as a marketing cost) because of the black/red color scheme, which was against NBA rules at the time.

    • where's my rooptoff

      June 13, 2023 at 8:29 pm

no lol😂 his definition for hypebeast is how its always been. people like you just spread false info when they use hypebeast as a pejorative.
and you clearly missed his point regarding the 1s if you think he was saying they were banned for being ugly

  8. Derek Hall

    June 13, 2023 at 6:20 pm

Correction… hypebeast is a person who only cares about what everybody else is hyped about and they feed off the dark energy and gets hyper than the sneaker community and try to take over!!!!😂😂😂😂😂

Any one know what those knit sneakers on the table are?

  10. TDMJ4

    June 13, 2023 at 6:50 pm

That is not the reason Jordan’s are so popular. They were originally popular Michael Jordan himself obviously a goat, they are only relevent today as a fashionable/stylish shoe. It is the cleanest looking high top shoes on the market as simple as that. Along with the many remakes or designs they keep making.

  22. Tony

    June 14, 2023 at 7:53 am

I agree on everything except the hypebeast answer. A hypebeast isn’t just someone who’s into fashion, a hypebeast is someone who is always chasing the newest hype. To that person, the fashion/style aspect isn’t the most important, it’s just about the status of always having the “most desired” piece of footwear or clothing (or other stuff, this can even be applied to non-physical things like activities).

    • P C.

      June 14, 2023 at 6:49 pm

Agreed, it’s not that i’m cleaning my sneakers each week (or like he said with a toothbrush) that I’m a hype beast but just someone who cares for something or just being a neat and tidy person.

  23. Richard Collins

    June 14, 2023 at 7:54 am

For a sneakerhead, I feel like some of these answers aren’t exactly correct. Not sure he did his research.

Interesting take on the Croc’s…I think it applies equally to Hey Dudes. Meaning, whatever you put on first thing in the morning probably stays on all day if it’s working?

  29. Certified_Professional

    June 14, 2023 at 11:07 am

That is not what a hype beast is, that is a sneaker head. A hype beast is someone who buys and wears things solely for the hype of the product. If others want it, they want it, regardless of how they feel about the design. They’re more interested in the resell price, than how it looks in their fit.

  30. Steve Rogers

    June 14, 2023 at 11:29 am

That’s not what a hypebeast is. A kid cleaning his sneakers because he cherishes is the opposite of a hypebeast.

He wasn’t fined for the Jordan 1. The AIRSHIP was banned then Nike lied and said it was the Jordan 1 with the same color blocking

  32. Zahin Carvalho

    June 14, 2023 at 11:53 am

Hype and branding is why Jordans are popular. Quality wise they are average at best, Nike also produces the hype collabs in limited quantities thus making the hype of the overall brand even higher as people can’t get them.

  51. M L

    June 15, 2023 at 6:39 am

Because they are expensive and kids love them. Kids then grow up and steal them or buy if they have money until they can wear them without looking like a 🤡

  52. William Fosnaugh

    June 15, 2023 at 8:19 am

Because they are expensive, and Ingnorant people equally cost with quality and status.
Honda builds Acura, Toyota builds lexus same engineering, same supplier, in many cases same parts same factory, same worker, same quality control. But because they cost more, most people will swear they are better.
How can that be when everything that goes into making them is the same?
Put a big price tag on it, and naive people assume it’s better.

  54. Quan Nguyen

I’m pretty sure the Jordan AIR SHIP was banned because it had black in it, and not a certain amount of white, that was required by the NBA at the time.

Not because it was “too ugly” at the time.

  55. Labor Days

    June 15, 2023 at 11:11 am

The only question I have is; do people sincely like wearing neon colored shoes? Never in my life have I ever desired wearing a pair of shoes that are green, pink, orange and blue.

  56. Joseph Remonte

    June 15, 2023 at 12:31 pm

For lifting you actually want a shoe that allows your toes to spread for stability during a deadlift/squat and also a flat shoe. Converse+blazers smoosh your toes which leads to instability. Your lift would be more effective if you wore a wide toe box shoe or just go bare foot

  57. HairBear

That’s not what a hypebeast is

  58. Massimo Facciuto

    June 16, 2023 at 4:51 am

Where do they find these “experts”? 😂😂😂 air jordan one was not banned, the air ships was the one banned by the nba because it didn’t have enough white on the shoe. Not because of the design the actual shoe. The shoe had to had x persentage of white to be league legal. Nike used as a publicity and marketing stunt to advertise the AJ1. Nike twisted the real story for marketing purpose. So please next time find someone who knows what he is taking about.

  60. David T

    June 16, 2023 at 1:07 pm

I think a lot of these type sneakers are being dumped in favour of using running shoes as a daily wear because of their comfort. I see an awful lot of non runners wearing Brooks Ghost and Adrenaline GTS. ASICS and New Balance are also have shoes this category

  61. Isaac Alonzo

    June 16, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Air Jordans are an ugly shoe that people buy as a fashion statement, totally not worth it. Specially with scalpers buying the entire stock to resell them for 700 dollars.

  62. Andrew Palmer

    June 16, 2023 at 4:49 pm

A sneaker expert that has the exact opposite perception of what a hypebeast is 🤔 or the fact that he doesn’t know that the airship was banned (not the aj1) for being too colorful (not enough white) 😬 the take on what makes an iconic sneaker was pretty good

I don’t find Chucks uncomfortable at all. Given I do only really wear them to the gym, but I’ve been wearing them for way over 10 years now. I don’t agree with the comment that they mimic barefoot, I have vivobarefoot shoes and those are true barefoot.

Air Jordan’s are great because Michael Jordan IS great. Sadly, the shoe brands wised up after that and are not about to give a fantastic deal to anyone (athlete or celebrity) like they did to Jordan.
Also, you cannot wear Soccer shoes which have spikes to school, or Cristiano Ronaldo would probably get in on that.

Chucks are the most comfortable, specially compared to Jordans, the one pair of Jordan 1 lows I have is really more of a boot and only good for fall/winter, too much of a shoe really. You must not like being barefoot.
