I think it doesn’t apply 1 to 1 for Youtubers or entertainers. Subscribers aren’t customers, they’re audience members. Gaining 1 subscriber isn’t something he pays for directly since the Youtube algorithm mostly does that for him. He pays to make content that the Youtube algorithm would push, but he isn’t dealing directly with a customer acquisition cost the same way businesses that sell products do. Not for his Youtube channel at least. Now if you’re talking about his other companies like Beast Burger or Feastables Candy, then yeah it’s a bit more normal.

There could be 3 three drugs to treat something, the doctor may write the script because of efficacy, bias because of marketing, an incentive or to some degree the trust, relationship with the drug company salesperson

I would recommend saving 12 months and not 6 months. In theory 6 months seem fine but if someone isn’t profitable by the 5th month sometimes they panic and make bad business decisions.

Mark has come along way for me. I started watching Shark Tank a decade ago and I liked him the least, because he seemed like the exact type of person to come onto a scene and shake stuff up just bc he felt like he could do whatever he wanted without consideration for others. He was overbearing, unnecessarily brash, and just mean to some of the contestants. Now, he spends a lot more time thinking less about himself and more about how he’s connecting with the entrepreneurs. And now I really like him! Haha

The ticket-as-NFT idea is a perfect example of wrong usage of crypto. If you have one authority over an item then you don’t need a blockchain and you especially don’t need NFTs. Blockchain solves the problem of missing trust. But you do have a trust anchor in this case, therefore it’s the wrong use case.

Thanks for keeping it real Mark! Just because you know multi-syllabic words doesn’t mean you need to use them. Just because you can devise a complex business model doesn’t mean you need to do so. The average person reads on a fifth grade reading level (the Flesch-Kincaid level is used to be sure public/business/advertising documents are geared to that level). So it makes more sense communicate in a way that most people will grasp. Same with the business model – keep it simple with few potential gaps. Loved how Mark described the pharmaceutical industry – why and how did it become so freaken complicated?
