  4. @MeDrMat

gross matte layer. A light shining on the screen test is such an artificial test that nobody should base their purchase on as the matte layer always causes aberration on a low level all over the screen causing the image to appear with a shimmer effect, and it reduces the depth of the image. You may as well buy a glossy one and just wear smudged up glasses to get the same effect so at least others can enjoy watching

I have to wonder what kind of clown show idiot compares the Samsung and the LG and doesn’t even MENTION the difference between QD OLED and WOLED.

I bought the S95F and it died on me in a week, not sure if it was the display or one connect box but I was suprised it died so quickly. Obviously a fluke, but I’m glad it happened in my return period.

    Go with G5 for reliability

    • @calebfodor6258

      June 17, 2025 at 1:37 pm

That’s crazy. On Best Buy’s website, a lot of people said in the reviews that the power supply on the S90D and S95D died pretty soon after they bought it. I thought Samsung would’ve fixed that issue, but maybe it is a one-off. Either way, it doesn’t make me feel great about dropping $4,000 on their TV. If it happens outside of the return window, I’ve heard Samsung customer service is a nightmare to deal with and will do anything and everything before they replace the TV.

    • @KuyaRio-i8o

      June 17, 2025 at 6:16 pm

S90d arrived then died the next very day 😂

    • @lordd794

      June 17, 2025 at 7:11 pm

The one connect box has consistently been a problem with Samsung over the years, it’s notorious for dying within a year or two, sometimes within weeks or months of purchase. I would avoid at all costs. Lg g5 also has the best warranty.

  11. @boldlord6937

    June 17, 2025 at 1:23 pm

The S95F is horrible with the raised blacks issues because of the matte screen, gues what TV doesnt have that issue? The G5

  12. @NeilCampbell-Kellam

    Nonsense lol 😂

  13. @NeilCampbell-Kellam

    June 17, 2025 at 1:32 pm

Even from your own video i could see how grey and washed out the s95f is haha. You even put the tv in the middle where you are standing to help hide it haha

  14. @curmudgeonnn

    June 17, 2025 at 1:59 pm

at 1:28 – you can clearly see just how much blacker the g5 is from the other two. the anti-glare coating on the samsungs significantly lifts the blacks.

  15. @nestroit5010

    June 17, 2025 at 2:18 pm

2 LED TVs vs 1 OLED (even in a bright room) . 1:13 “black is maintained” is crazy work when to the right there is the only real black panel on the G5

  16. @randomgamer19170

    June 17, 2025 at 2:49 pm

Samsungs one connect box caps out at 40gbps instead of hdmi 2.1 standard of 48gbps. Which means you get video dropout when gaming at 4k 165hz when the gpu is actually rendering at 165fps for extended periods it will fail

    • @Minarreal

      June 17, 2025 at 3:07 pm

The dropouts can happen whether you’re outputting at 4K/165Hz or any lower. It’s not related to the bandwidth, it’s a defect with the One Connect Box hardware. They were prevalent in 2023 but they still happen in isolation in newer models.

  17. @terrykendrick8025

    June 17, 2025 at 3:01 pm

    I don’t believe this guy

  18. @Sienar7

    June 17, 2025 at 3:17 pm

Hmmmm. If Samsung ever add Dolby Vision, I’d consider it. Until then, still a definitive no.

  19. @VivaLaFamous

    June 17, 2025 at 3:24 pm

    Get the S95F if you’re a gamer.
Get the G5 if you’re a huge movie watcher.
Both TVs are good! With their own advantages and weaknesses.

And all QD OLEDS have “raised blacks” when lights or the sun is shined directly onto the screen. That isn’t a matte screen issue. It’s a QD OLED issue, but it’s still superior than WOLED.

The matte screen does what it’s suppose to do, eliminate all reflections so that your screen doesn’t look like a mirror. Dark content viewing and HDR viewing is the meant to be viewed in a dark room anyway!

    • @rodolfofrancisco

      June 17, 2025 at 5:35 pm

I think the g5 is better for gaming. It supports 144hz, all hdmi inputs are 2.1, it has free sync and gsync…

    • @VivaLaFamous

      June 17, 2025 at 5:57 pm

@@rodolfofrancisco Both S95F and G5 do 165HZ. But input lag raises highly on the G5 with 165HZ enabled. The S95F input lag is low all around. And if you have a PS5 then the G5 is pretty much a no go with its HDR 10 issues. And the PS5 uses HDR 10 while the Xbox uses DV. Hopefully they’ll fix it with an update.

Very incomplete review as it doesn’t address the mass amount of One Connect Box failures caused by its faulty power supply. And Samsung’s horrible warranty service means you can be out a TV for weeks.

    • @tompupino424

      June 18, 2025 at 3:23 am

Which is why you should buy an extended warranty from best buy..etc as the standard warranty is only 1 year and is completely useless

  21. @rodolfofrancisco

    June 17, 2025 at 5:36 pm

The lack of dolby vision support is a big no in the samsung for me. No way I`d pay such a high price for something that doesn’t support the gold standard HDR model.

    • @LJ-uy9ru

      June 18, 2025 at 9:35 pm

Lol Dolby vision isn’t even that good. I have it on my LG . And my s95f looks just fine without it.

  23. @KuyaRio-i8o

The whole point of oled is for BLACK to remain BLACK under any lighting conditions to preserve infinite contrast, at this point go buy yourself a nice mini-led if you’re looking at an s95f for a bright room 🤣

  24. @Lozin80

    June 17, 2025 at 7:23 pm

I’m wanting to upgrade this year and the 83” S95F is my top contender at the moment with the G5 in second place and the 85” Bravia 9 in third. I only wish the S95F had the wireless OCB

    • @AllDayErrDay.

      June 17, 2025 at 7:28 pm

The 83-inch S95F isn’t a QD-OLED panel. It actually uses the same panel as the G5 from LG. It would come down to whether or not you want the matte or glossy screen.

Their dumbing it down because they want to reach out to a wider audience without sounding overly technical for them, but the TV he picks for gaming is correct. S95F is better for gaming, especially HDR gaming, LG still has weirdness in HDR even after the update. Plus, S95F will give more pop and depth to colors, whereas in HDR movies it’s more neck and neck with the G5 having better white brightness and white purity.

OK, let’s say this once and for all you could not have darker blacks. That’s like saying I travel faster than the speed of light or it’s so cold out. It’s below absolute 0°. What’s the definition of the word black? YOU may want to look this up CNET. Black is a complete light. How can things get darker if there’s no light? It’s interesting you ask that question they can’t. Brightness is light the exact opposite of black. What I would recommend buying a dictionary.

  44. @goktug4618

    June 19, 2025 at 4:56 pm

Pay insane amounts of money to have OLED tech so you’ve got inky blacks,

Samsung slaps a matte coating + their QD-OLED has magenta/purple hue when there is a light in the enviroment.

Their colors are better that’s no doubt.

But LG is the clear winner for not only having the most fundamental OLED feature inky blacks infinite contrast ratio but for many other things.

    • @MirelRC

      June 23, 2025 at 5:14 pm

Better, but this time the difference is so small, that G5 makes the better package.

  45. @TrizzieB

    June 19, 2025 at 9:57 pm

Go to best buy and look at the s95f please see it in person and stop being keyboard warriors and saying it’s a samsung promotion. The tv looks damn good and is a major improvement from last year’s model. I work at best buy and love sony but ill be a liar if I didnt say that s95f didnt look amazing as well as tbe s90f. The C5 and G5 also look amazing! That Sony Bravia 8 II is also really amazing. All around great tvs from all the big names as always with Hisense and Tcl right behind.
Also he sounds like all of us when we talk about the anti glare properties of that oled panel which is now also on the 8k models, mini led model (qn90f) and the new 2025 frame tvs.
If you want brightness and color accuracy with a bunch load of features and 2700+ free channels and movies Samsung is the way to go, if you want great picture saturation and deeper colors for a cheaper price thab sony LG baby that G5 or C5 remarkable tvs, and for better details esp for movie watching Sony all day with their core processor being the best on the market just a much steeper $ point because they source parts, iykyk.
Last but not least, if you wanted to save a lil $ Hisense and Tcl are still very viable options honestly.

Bought the LG G5, but returned it and bought the S95F, and my word was it worth it. Matte coating is a game changer, finally not looking at a mirror, which was a problem with the G5. The quality is a bit better, and it’s a upgrade from the G5. S95F all the way
