Better sensors would make them better. I have two sub-$200 Garmins that TROUNCE my Watch 8 Classic and Ultra 2025 when I track my pool lap swims. I stopped using the Galaxy Watches entirely because of their inaccuracy: if the Health app has garbage going in, it’s gotta be spitting garbage out. Samsung acknowledged they had a software issue a year ago, but never did anything to fix it. Brought them out a couple of weeks ago to see if the latest update had improved things and…nope; the Ultra measured 550 yards more than I actually swam.
They’re spending too much time on pretty animations and cartoon animals, instead of the basics.

The thing about Samsung watches, and I’ve had most of them, the battery life sucks and it takes forever for them to boot up and run smoothly.

Better sensors, for like the last 5-6 years Galaxy Watches have remained the same on Quantified Scientist’s testing even if they rename their sensors.

The best smartwatch was the first Galaxy Gear from like 2013, with camera on wrist. Cameras need to make a come back, especially with today’s AI.

What Samsung needs most to be taken seriously in the fitness tracking space is GPS and heart rate monitoring that doesn’t suck. Apple and Pixel watches are both significantly better, let alone looking at the best in that space, Garmin. I’ll never consider one as long as fitness tech gurus are still making fun of them.

It would be cool if the GW could be used as a dive watch that gave you diving data. Btw Andrew, if you’re wrong shave that bang off 😂. As for me I want better battery life more than anything which is why I’ve kept my GW5. Samsung is not a very good smart watch maker. Their blood pressure feature is a joke, Apple on the other hand make an actual ECG that actually works. For the price, I remember the first GW. It came in an actual watch box that made it feel special. These watches have lost that. They just pack it in a crappy carton box. The battery life is terrible and after a while they slow down to a crawl.

I’ve the watch 7. I will skip the watvh 9 and wait for the watch 10….. classic model. Or I’ll buy the watch 8 Classic and I will keep it until the watch 11 goes out and then I’ll buy the watch 10 Classic. 😅
