Both of these battery powered video doorbells offer a solid list of features, but we put them to the test to see which one reigns supreme.

We’ve pitted Nest and Ring against each other before, but these wireless options are even simpler to install. Does that make them easier to steal? We find out, and do our porch pirate test along with a vision test to find out which one will get you the info you need the quickest.

Do you recomend the Huawei Watch GT2 or the Huawei watch GT2 PRO?

      September 16, 2021 at 6:48 pm

None, because they’re both Chinese Huawei

I’m a little disappointed with the delay for the porch pirate test, but as you said, it comes with the territory since it’s not wired.

The new Nest cam is trash… about ten steps backwards compared to the previous wired version

    Eufy for the win.

the ring is just soo cheap looking and feeling. the nest looks and feel better to use. also if ur worried about ppl stealing ur nest, just build a frame to surround the nest so that the edges fit flush.

      September 16, 2021 at 8:33 pm

Asking people to build (or even buy separately) a frame or cage is a fairly decent consideration though, being these are primarily used in areas that people want to maintain some semblance of an aesthetic appeal on the front of their home, and may need to access the device at regular intervals for battery charging.

Nest, Chris, and I did close my left eye.

  12. Will

    September 16, 2021 at 10:06 pm

More reliable notifications? You know the Nest has a ridiculous 5 minute cooldown period between notifications, right? It also resets every time it detects motion after the first notification. It’s completely fail on so many levels. I’m not saying the Ring is better, but at least you won’t miss something that happens right in front of your door with Ring.

Ring is the best, been with them since they started and love them. Great customer service ????

Does nest replace the unit if a skeet manages to gaff it? Ring does.

Eufy has no subscription and seems to be on par with both of these in terms of features.

  19. George Jolliffe

    September 17, 2021 at 9:37 am

Would’ve been nice to see a notification delay test. How long it takes both a phone and smart display to respond.

  20. Ervi Ari

    September 17, 2021 at 9:54 am

That theft test was bogus. He used the side of the stair post as leverage to use with his thumbs to pry it off with his fingers. How many people actually put their doorbell on a stair post instead of by their front door where they can see people or porch pirates?

  21. JUR O

    September 18, 2021 at 10:06 am

you could have used Tom Holland as pirate stealing youre stuff.
They really need to make lock system tho on the nest….
I think the ring is a bit more longer proof or endless since it has inbuilt battery.
    Like the nest tho

What about speed, how quickly each notifies you of motion or a doorbell press?

  24. Greg Lamb

    September 18, 2021 at 2:02 pm

Sorry, if I can’t be sure the device is going to stay on my door I don’t want it. That’s AU$329 that disappears in 1 second

  25. G K

    September 18, 2021 at 4:22 pm

I bought and returned this. Other than the video quality not being great the two biggest issues were that it wasn’t 3 hours worth of events storage (i.e. multiple 30 sec clips adding up to 3 hours), it is events stored for 3 hours before cleared which is a real issue if something happens at night and the clip is deleted before you get up. Secondly when you get a notification and click on it, I would get the message that the video is not ready for viewing and you have to wait a while until it’s available…. totally unacceptable and can’t believe Google released a product with these types of issues.

    September 18, 2021 at 8:29 pm

It would also be nice to know if you did wire both doorbells do they respond faster when they have power.

    September 18, 2021 at 11:36 pm

porch pirate my behind they’re thieves and the batteries the jerks I left would use cheap batteries they’re the type to buy more PS4’s and still not repair the toilet I know I’ve been with for 8 years ad they sucked all my gov’t check for themselves don’t worry I’m going to get every penny back real soon.

  28. Cornbreadfed Kirkpatrick

    September 18, 2021 at 11:41 pm

The tick is for them not to see you the thieves that give them a false sense of they got a easy target when you’re not
