Personally, I would have rather just seen the OLED without touch functionality at a better price, maybe $400 above regular (figuring the Apple curve).

that touch screen will become just another feature that almost no one will use haha

I can’t watch anyone else’s take on Apple anymore. Bridget has ruined all other Apple reviewers for me. <3

Basically, Apple wanna say: “we can combine iPad with iPhone or Macbook, but you have to pay a way more for those things!”

Am I the only one who thinks touchscreen Macs will end up just like the Touch Bar? Give it a few years and Apple will quietly drop them

      October 29, 2026 at 8:13 pm

Sidecar on Ipads could show mac os touchbar, now why not can’t touch bar be shown on the mac screen itself

Apple’s policy is back in the picture. What nobody’s talking about is this: can this MacBook Pro, which can also be rotated 360 degrees, be folded flat like a tablet? No?

Yep, my inner child is working out the financial justification as I watch these reviews.

Apple is simply way too late to the game. No one’s excited for this.

surprised you didn’t mention the weight reduction! IMHO maybe one of the more ‘long-term’ benefits for those who take it everywhere…

    October 29, 2026 at 6:24 pm

I just hope that these features are able to come to Sidecar when you connect your iPad to your MacBook so that those of us who do not have touchscreen MacBook can take advantage of the UI improvements for touchscreens

7:15 the 360 degree hinge just makes sense and I was hoping that Apple would do it with their MacBook

All they had to do was let people install Mac OS on the iPad Pro. The MacBook screen can’t even lay flat let alone be used with a Pencil. Pointless.

    • @SirusStarTV

      October 29, 2026 at 8:11 pm

With mac os sidecar the ipad could be used as a touch screen for mac, but of course requires mac. So they can sell both ipads and macs.

    • @nickthaskater

      October 29, 2026 at 9:15 pm

@SirusStarTV most people would still buy a MacBook, regardless. An iPad isn’t as powerful or “reliable” for sustained workloads (i.e., it will throttle and be slower due to passive cooling), so the more powerful MacBook will always have a place, nevermind the battery endurance.

Allowing Mac OS on the iPad would likely sell more iPads *without* impacting MacBook sales (chances are if you wanted a MacBook in the first place, you’d have one already, and if not, you won’t, regardless). It may actually increase MacBook sales as people could buy the iPad and then realize they would really like a MacBook for other use cases to complement the iPad.

Goodness I came for the OLED stayed for the hips.
