I hope it backwards compatible. The box to psvr1 is hdmi 2.0 and can’t pass through 120 so I have to keep switching cables

Would love to see a real PS Home return…
The 2 clone things we have now are trash.

@Umbra DeusClone? You mean VR chat?

So it WON’T work on PC?

Losing market share. If I am investing in VR, it’s either gotta be self-contained like the quest, or it’s gotta be for PC for an expansive library not limited by closed-ecosystem device libraries like consoles have (meaning consoles just don’t have as many games).

    • suffer4fashion

      January 5, 2022 at 10:13 pm

Why would it work on PC? That doesn’t really make much sense tbh.

Edit: I should clarify, I have zero expectations for a PlayStation product to be PC compatible. And I’d wager that the majority of the public carries the same expectations as we’ve been conditioned to see PlayStation as a walled garden ecosystem.

      January 5, 2022 at 11:02 pm

@suffer4fashion Because you can’t really market VR games at a big showcase unless the VR audience is big enough. Playstation has already made an effort to porting slot of their own games to steam. Their controllers work not on on PC but mobile as well. Playstation has shown to expand beyond their garden in recent times. It’s by far not their norm, but it’s not unprecedented either.

      January 5, 2022 at 11:02 pm

@suffer4fashion It makes sense for it to be mainly compatible with PS5 but at the same time since more PlayStation games are coming to PC, it also makes sense for the PSVR to be PC compatible as well.

Haptic touch of a bunch of worms on my head, Sony knows this needs to cost about $300 Max

    • PSYCHO

      January 5, 2022 at 10:58 pm

In your dreams. It’ll cost $400 bare minimum.

I still say get the Quest 2. I remember that tether and it was very annoying, ruined the immersion factor. On Quest, it still sucks to play with it plugged in, and it also uses a lightweight USB-C. No cords, or no deal. The exception could be games with mostly seated experiences, like a good flight simulator.

Still using a cable ???? so lame

    • Umbra Deus

      January 6, 2022 at 12:35 am

being that its using the C port i feel its probably going to be for charging.
But i would rather it not be, cuz if its getn its feed from the console then i want it to have as little latency as possible and being wired will give less latency.

Thats honestly why they need to just make a standalone

Sony was testing the waters with PSVR1 and after they have seen that it has it’s decent fanbase they seem to go all out with PSVR2 and this sounds awesome ???? loved the first headset and defnitelly will get this one day one aswell

This is disappointing, I was really hoping for a wireless PSVR, this makes me want to go ahead and get the Oculus.

They are not going to try to sell it anymore then the PS5 in my opinion. I am thinking $400-$500. It would be crazy to think its an add on and it would be more.. This is just my input.
